Accessorry loss is a loss, well considering it can be deleted for free while doing maintaince (new belt), I wouldnt call it much of a mod. The 4.6 doesnt have it so thats apples to apples. You would think with their better flowing heads and new technology they wouldnt need all these smoke and mirror tricks.

That is funny. I like how you twist all the pros on a 5.0L, and list cons on the 4.6L. Let's do a little swapping there...

Um, that would be the 5.0L that gets the "trick" treatment... It gets harder to improve upon as perfection nears...the 5.0L was further down the perfection line...if you catch my drift...

I have known and been around enough of both, personally been involved with their mods, times, street races enough, thats why I posted averages. I could just as easily post all the bad running combos from each side.

There have been HUNDREDS of people come and go in our group over the years, this is a military area.

How is the 5.0 getting tricks? Not my fault the 4.6 comes with a non belt driven smog pump that it cant take off to pick up power, not my fault a 4.6 cant turn a distributor and pick up power (even though one of the 03's I posted about DOES have the timing modded with a custom tune). You would think for something so perfect it wouldnt need a smog pump that can be removed from the factory to gain power and wouldnt need an easy way to turn the timing. Guess those 5.0's are faster than people thought when in the hands of people that arent total morons.

If the 4.6 came with the smog from the factory and you removed it, it wouldnt be any faster than they already are.

all i know is i would be pissed if i owned a 03 gt with bolts on, when a 93 5.0 with bolt ons runs almost identical times and side by side in races!!!!

The 97 GT I posted about raced the 93 Notch the other night from a 40 roll and it was horrible. The notch has more mods but it was horrible. No video though.

Actually since it is nearer to perfection, it doesn't need "tricks" to make fixing and tuning it easier...it already is more evolved in that respect

It would be by a little bit...it wouldnt' hurt it for sure, and barely help it. Dyno gains of 3-5rwhp on the 5.0L. That adds up, unlike what you have been saying.

You get convienent amnesia to much

4.6 needs a crutch apparently. The 5.0 took his off, guess the factory just left him with an easier car to make faster instead of compromises.

What happened to make the 5 MPH difference? Ah yes, the 5.0 Fox Body is faster than the NEWER more high tech 4.6 97 GT.

2-3 MPH is pretty bad from a roll at times, 5 MPH is much worse and it was, badly. 97 GT got the jump, still was around 4-5 cars back at 100 from a 40 roll. Only a 60 MPH spread, 97 GT got the jump and still was further back and constantly getting pulled hard.

Yeah, because we all know that Ford built the 5.0L strickly for track time...and not other reasons...Ford should have thought that other people besides those at the track would drive these cars. Ford is so dumb...

Especially for making a better car overall than their old cars...geez...I can't believe them...bad practice

They should have made the 5.0L now, and the 4.6L then...and everything that came with them...bummer.

If you think 4-5 cars in a 60 MPH spread isnt bad then you havent raced enough. Could have taken them to 140 and it might have been 12 cars. Especially somebody getting the hit in a short race. Thats not a stock 97 GT either.

NPI or PI, the notch was victorious the other night. Hmmm?

Well apparantly the drivers are the factor in the 97 gt. I ran 1mph slower in the 98 gt than that many bolt-on 97, and this car is fully loaded, leather, mach 460, 10.5 chrome, cobra bumper, etc. Yeah, we all know a little hit will take 2 cars off...lol

Like I said, doing better than I thought. How about compare a 96-98 to a 94/95. Better comparison. A bad comparison is a stock 5.0L vs. a stock 99+

Well apparently bolton for bolton the 4.6 isnt getting away like you say. You could always BUILD both completely but the 4.6 loses again.

So every car I mentioned here would run even faster at your track/weather because I have seen a bunch and known a bunch, even personally driven a slightly modded one down the track. 9.4-9.5@75-76 MPH is the average of around 6-8 cars around here at the same tracks. 5 Speed cars usually run 9.1-9.2's@77-78. Some of those auto cars even had exhuast, or filter, or pulleys. Stock geared.

Your friend running a 9.5 needs to retire or fix his car. Never seen a 5 speed one that slow unless the driver trys to make a pass with a bag over his head.
Well, there was a '00 Trans Am 6spd, exhaust, lid, filter, some free mods that ran a best of 9.67@78mph
and an '03 Cobra that ran best of 9.02@85mph.
That same night... so yeah... track and weather aren't that great.
I guess all the drivers over here are crap.

But it's still nice beating '05 GT(auto), '00 Trans Ams, '91 GT's and the like.

85 MPH and 9.02 for an 03 Cobra shows he cant drive. 9.67 for a 00 Trans Am is RETARDED. I have seen Vipers run 9's, a Vortech 02 GT run 9's, another blown 99-04 GT run 9's but thats not the average now is it?

Im talking to my friend that had the 01 GT automatic on AIM right now, car had gears, filter, mufflers, pulleys and couldnt beat the 93 Notch when it was barely modded. He used to beat stock auto GT's yet couldnt beat the notch.
