Hi, I know this is a bit after the fact, but I am doing a similar swap with my 78 v6 Ghia, and I was wondering why the engine is centered. Shouldn't it be offset slightly to the passanger, even with the modified v6 frame mounts?

I will measure it up for you the next days. I'm not sure if it is centered...

my engines sits about 2 inches more on the passenger site. If I remember right the holes at the engine block are not mirrored and are slightly offset also...

Hey guys,
finally I'm allowed to work at home (thanks covid-19). Yesterday I bleeded my hydraulic clutch. It's working
I've ordered SS pipes and bends for building the exhaust while we should stay at home… lets see how things will develop.
Sunny wheater is forecasted for the next 2 weeks...
Not bad for now

Take this corona virus: oil on every rocker arm and about 3-4 bar oil pressure with the drill. And a friend gave me a very good tip, how to turn the engine (the radiator is to close to get the ratchet on the crank pulley bolt): just use the alternator nut! worked great!

I also installed the distributor and spark plug wires, but they are a bit too long... not happy with the wire routing, but it will work.
Now I will install the drive shaft and fill the transmission. Then I will have to take care about the exhaust...
This will be still much work...

Again I'm thinking about the wheel/tire combination. I measured up the stock wheels and the cragars. The stock wheels are 5'' wide, the cragars have about 2,75'' backspacing and are 7'' wide. The cragars have about 3/4 inch to much backspacing to fit well. I also see the problem that here is nobody around who is willing to balance them on the wheel studs... and the 13'' tires are limited in choice.
Here are some pictures of the car with the original set and the cragars

I saw that there are swiss made remakes of the minilite wheels. They come in 7x15 have offset of 5mm (around 3,7'' backspacing). They should fit very well, even the hub diameter is the right on for the mustang II. They are produced to fit the european Capri. I think with 195 or 205/50R15 tires they should fit nicley.
Here is an example of the wheels on a capri

I saw that there are similar wheels used on pres 73 mustangs:

And i found a picture of the wheels on a Cobra II (perhaps not the same size, but style):

Guys, what to you think? I'm not 100% sure (they are not cheap).

I like them! When I was looking into wheels to replace my 13 inch aluminum slots from way back when, I considered these. They were pretty high on my list too, but the price ruled them out and I went with the Summit branded knock off Welds that are on my car now.

I will try to sell my cragars... Perhaps someone is interested and the minilite won't be expensive if I get them sold.

Like the home made transmission jack.
Hey Extra Stout, I'm assuming they don't sell PBR in Germany (or any American beer for that matter).

No, i've never heard of PBR, but now I did get it. I think you can get corona (not the virus) and budweiser here around.
But why should't I drink good german beer?! I clearly doesn't make sence to fill up big glasses only partly with those little baby bottles.

I know! I've had to start rationing the beer in my fridge.

I wonder if the liquor stores make delivery?
