I hate when anything not even close to whAT i want to be tries to f--- with me on the hiway.what is the best way to ditch competition at an 80 roll on open highway in my 94 cobra...3rd up to 6 grand or 4th;..oor do I need a supercharger or what...I don't care..this is what my drive to and from work is all about and I want my Cobra to kick ass at the higher end..what do I need to do..I am currently running with long bbk headers and h pipe and flow american thunders..undersize pullies and ram air.. still not enough power to bullet out out 90 mph up to 110...my 94 z auto would dust these vehicles that toy with me ...but I now work for Ford and bought this Cobra it has to perform..any help much appreciated..driving 80 miles a day..I do love the feel of this car

Simple.

When you are in these situtions:

1) - A vehicle is beside you and wont go slower or faster, while another vehicle is in front of you and wont get over or speed up so you are boxed in, simply roll down your window, have a sincere look of concern on your face, get the attention of the driver beside you and point to his/her front tire like it is going flat or coming apart. This generaly makes them slow down just a bit but enough to make room for you to get around and be on your way.

2) - An SUV pulls up along side you while in your '94 Cobra gently put it in 3rd or 4th depending on your mph and simply mat it. A stock Cobra should pull away from almost any SUV.

3) - If option 2 doesn't work, stay with step 1

:D :nice:

The supercharger on a cobra makes a big difference on the freeway. Now if I need to put some distance from the car behind me, I downshift to 4th, put the accelerator to the floor and in seconds that blower kicks in and Im doing 100. :D

:rlaugh: I'll have to remember that one

Id stay w/ putting in a set of 3.73 gears. I think that putting in a Supercharger JUST FOR THE PURPOSE of getting away from annoying SUV's on the highway is a little odd. Most people that want them have more of a reason then just there morning comute to work. When its all said and done does it annoy you enough to put down $4,000 ( by the time the whole process is done) or $200 for a set of gears

ROFL!! I put a paxton on my SUV JUST FOR THE PURPOSE of annoying guys that think they have a fast little ricer, or as in the last "surprise", a beemer 5something, wanted my lane leaving a light, and I didn't allow it, he didn't know what to think when the "AWD 5.0 Supercharged" emblems went by him, with 4 adults and 2 dogs on board. Want to add Nitrous too, but wifey poo says no. :-(

HAHA supercharge 5.0 explorer is the way to go....

To the question at hand....i if you realy realy want the extra speed go buy/build a turbo kit thats the best way to 400-450 RWHP and you'll have all the boost you need a 3000rpms you won't ever need anything more the 4th.

dustin a suv

The gears sound good and I actually had a 410 taken out because of gas milage and I like to cruise at 90..my rpms were to high..well the jury is still out ..right now I 'm thinkin Nitros or supercharger..someone suggested a edelbrock performer intake.Thank you for your input...I have only had this car three weeks and I haven't stopped toolin with it.

trickflow street heat intake would do well too
that is what i have, and thumper heads. the computer is finally learning how to run them. it starts really pulling at about 2600 and continues to about 4500.

get 3.73s. it is a good compromise. i have 4.10s in my 96, and like you, i do not like the rpms so high on the highway, but i can cruise around town at 1500 because it doesn't bog nearly as much. pick your poison ...
