Is the clear Sherwin Williams also? I can honestly say until you started talking about them I didn't know they made automotive stuff. That is pretty cool! Can't wait to see it!

I had never shot Sherwin Williams until a year ago Allen.

It has in the past, had a reputation for being cheap sht.

But, then again, so did Sikkens 25 years ago.

They have really stepped up their game, but like any good paint, it ain't cheap.

I would easily compare this to the Spies Hecker I put on Doby. Just wait! I'm so excited. I'll paint the door this week, and maybe the left fender by the end of the week. I'll post pictures, of course. From the booth and in the sunshine.

BTW, it may be expensive, but it's free for me! Woohoo!

Got the fender back from the media blasters today, same routine as the door, sand, etch and primer.

Holy smoke! I have a bit of work to do across the top side of that fender. Those waves weren't nearly as noticeable when covered with rust and peeling paint!

You can't really see it too much in this picture, but that top made me feel a little ill with so many waves! Oh well, I'll fix 'er up in no time.

Yeah, I still need more. Brakes, tires, fluids and filters. Maybe $800-$900 plus the registration. A grand then.

Who knew it would cost so much?

But guess what biches? We have an '83 t-top coupe that is almost road worthy again!

I'm having so much fun with this "build".

But tonight comes the dreaded night....my wife will find out about Robby. I have created a fanciful story sure to charm her.....so, really, if you don't hear from me anymore.....I'm not sure where the pieces of my body will be located. All I ask is that you should tie on a good one and get drunk for me!

Not so much. I'm using the exact same primer, sealer, color and clear for every panel. I'll use five coats of the color for every panel.

The color was exactingly mixed, so on the odd chance I need more, I'll just need to be exacting on the new mix as well.

Each panel will be shot in the position as if it were on the car. I'm fairly confident.

I know you have a plan, Ive just read about people having mismatches when doing exactly what you are doing, and it has more to do with their paint being from "different batches" from the manufacturer, and having small yet noticeable differences. You are the master of your craft, and I have only read about such things, so I just thought I'd ask!
