Go to roadkill.com. I was just reading Xmas night and there's an article about junkyard blowers. They mention the M90 on Thunderchickens and Buicks, the Mazda Millenia has some blower that's as long as inline 6 and then the PREVIA. Like that diagram Mr X posted, it's remote mounted and has a CLUTCH on the front. You could put a big red button on the shifter to turn your blower on and off like Mel Gibson in Mad Max!

Davedacarpainter starring in MadMax Beyond the Oklahoma Dome. Mayhem and Mischief on I-40. You'll need to fab up a nice heavy duty cow catcher for the front, but make sure you don't block too much air flow. That intercooler needs to breathe!

Here I went ahead and found the page: http://www.roadkill.com/supercharge-everything-cheap-blower-shopping-local-u-wrench/

And I started it.....

Practise saying this...."Darling, its an Air Conditioning pump, the bigger the better....."

I find in Spainish, so she won't ever work it out.....

Thats what I did with my Supercharger. Maybee I can put a spare tire over the trunk and duct the manifolding to trunk, and run the supercharger off an always driven drive shaft with a centrifugal clutch on the axle.

She Who Must Be Obeyed wouldn't suspect it if it was hidden ander a Renault Torino style spare tire, surely...

An M62 on a twin cam Honda Ricer makes 489 hp...just.

Remember me when you decide to go M112.

I'm the one 5 right on the purple couch, 3 from the drivers side left...:nice:

Since we're jacking Dave's thread to hell and back....on a M112, the people that have fabbed up manifolds to mount them on a 302 usually cut off the mounting flange and still seem to be cramming the injectors and fuel rails in. I haven't seen one done on a 351. Seems with the wider manifold there's more room. I'd try to search, but I know someone reading this already has this bookmarked and ready to copy and paste.

This is more common on truck forums than Mustang forums. For the "stack" that you get sitting above the hood line, there are often much more attractive options than an M112.

I could be made to look sweet as hell though especially, with an air cleaner sitting on the top. :chin

* sigh*:nonono:

This doesn't have to be so hard..
( How many times have I said that to myself ya think?)

All of this talk about inefficiencies,...the relegated charge temp heat,....and the hell you'd have to go through to upgrade a little M90 to the bigger M112. Hood fitment, engine compartment clutter, intercooler pipe routing on a PD blower that completely obscures the power plant sitting immediately beneath,.........could all be squelched by one word....

Turbocharger.

I'm the king of doing stuff the hard way,.......... ( No, scratch that... Steve is the king of doing it the hard way,....I'm second in line to that throne)....regardless,....if anybody....I'm certainly an authority on doing everything I can to avoid using......*JAW in any future project

I think that that SC 3.8 is a great candidate for an alternative engine build, The heads look great, and should flow a decent amount of air, and the block, and engine internals are all more than up to the task..

But what's the point of having this engine, when you won't be able to see anything other than the Charge tube, and the blower inlet hat? The rest of the engine just says..........

Raaarrww.
Good luck changing a spark plug on that little dude..Where the hell is the engine even at under all of that? And what the hell is that malfunction junction at the back of the blower?
When I suggested this engine, it was as a stock " set it and forget it" replacement for the existing 3.8 currently in the car, cause the words JY Explorer was in the conversation as an alternative at the time. But now that the aftermarket bug has bit.....and thoughts turn to performance improvements, and cosmetics..... Especially cosmetics......
All of that "Raaarrww" goes away with a single 60 mm turbo,...( which will easily outperform a M112) No worries about packaging,...no worries about latent heat soak, belt drive parasitic loss inefficiencies, hood clearance, intercooler piping, Pulley this, pulley that, future maintenance,....all of that.....
Gone.

And you'll be able to see the engine. Then it'll actually matter what color you paint it.

It's like the articles above point out....you get the SC engine FOR the engine,..you sell the blower to guys like Frieburger for 50 bucks.
