Not that I'm any sort of authority to give opinions etc, but as a new player in the fox game... my advice would be to stop looking for parts, and learn about all the systems in the car and how they work together. Also, dig into all the nuances about these cars and pitfalls/shortcomings.
Right now it sounds like you're trying to slap parts together to achieve a loose goal without understanding how one part affects another part and it's role in the overall system. (
this is only my opinion, not fact)
Personally, I bought my first fox last year and my wife's a couple months ago. Since buying mine, I've spent countless hours researching and trying to understand as much as I can about the motors, their parts, the years they changed stuff, what improvements were made over the years, what others (
respected opinions not just randoms on the net) have tried and their experiences with those attempts, how the motor functions as a unit, the braking system, the suspension, the body etc etc etc on and on.
Once you have a good handle on how the motor works, then start researching the shortcomings of the motor... the brakes.... the suspension & body. Once you've got the idea.... set your end goal for the car. How do
YOU want your 'final car' to perform?
Now that you have a clear understanding of the motor, the shortcomings & a goal in mind.... begin formulating a plan to solve issues that move you and your project towards that end goal one system at a time. (
I.e. it needs to breathe better. If I change the intake, what down stream effects does changing it have on the system as a whole? Is there a new bottleneck somewhere else that will negate the gains from changing the intake?)
Read read read...then read some more.

There is tons of info on the net about almost every part of these cars, all waiting for you.

One last thing, If it were me, I'd start with brakes/suspension/steering before moving onto the motor. All the power parts mean squat if you can't control that power. My .02
