'93 Fox - On3 Turbo Build Project- PICS

If it were me I'd dig deeper now and make sure it structurally sound Before going crazy for h.p.That seems safer to me,and remember that 4 k for The turbo 450 h.p. Will need better trans mission, frame reinforcing, upper an lower rear control arms, and much more money to say the least. This is my gift of two cents to you.
Forsure additional mods required but it never made sense to me to build something with less power if the potential is there for more right from the get go. The spending on cars never stops and after the turbo ill need more things to dump money into as you mention above, but it allows for low boost for moderate power and ability to turn it up when support is completed or breaks.

On the rust side of things. Digging in as much as I could without cutting it open didnt warrant any reason to. Hammer and screwdriver taken anywhere bay or well side without even a scuff on the metal. If my k-member falls off one day I'll take another look.

Rust check and painted. Area by area as time permits. Got one side cleaned up tonight. Pass. side this week then firewall next weekend hopefully

I was in the same boat, twice. When I first bought the car it looked like yours and I just had it painted and left the shock towers. Fast forward several years and I decided to do a wire tuck, suspension and HCI. Well the cancer had worsened over the years so I decided to fix it. Before and after pics attached. Not a body guy either but it was well worth the effort and now I don't feel like I'm modding a car as it dissolves anymore :)

So the bay is all cleaned up and back together. Forgot pics sorry.

I have been trying to source this on3 kit, but since i can't drive over the border and pick it up the shipping & duties are about $600 which is a tough pill to swallow. Still working on sourcing this. Downpipes are also out of stock right now.

On another note a guy on kijiji is selling a Pimpx v1.1 for $450 CAD, hoping to get it for $400.

I was originally looking microsquirt with the harness adapter from EFISource but this to my knowledge is superior (please correct me if this will not work well) but i am cautious second hand with second hand stuff. Anything to look for as a dead giveaway for damage or is this too high risk to chance?

Thanks

As a little update to whoever is reading.
So my work has some perks that allow me to get stuff through amazon which i have been waiting for to order all supporting parts for the turbo build. ON3 kit has been ordered but cold side is on back order currently. My list of supporting parts are below that i am going to order . This is from my research on the forums, general info etc. Anyone have some feedback on the fuel setup along with the innovate gauge?

I already have the PiMPx for tuning and again the base 70mm kit from On3. A friend of mine has some wrap for the downpipe and i will likely leave the headers unwrapped due to the cracking issues/warranty you sometimes hear about or if underhood temps are unbearable.

Hoping the cold side should be in about 3-5 weeks and don't want to start installing until i have all parts ready. This way i can drive the car in the meantime.

Some other stuff on my mind that i'll grab from local part stores are stubby oil filter, silicone hose, tee's etc, air filter, punch to tap the pan and of course a good set of rubber.

Also, had found some LX tails that were in rough shape for $40 bucks that i sanded/polished/painted to get rid of the 80's cheese graters. Huge difference.

And some pics of the finished bay after rust repair/repaint.

Anyone tell me if i can change the subject line for this thread?

At the top of any page on your thread there should be three horizontal dots and an arrow. Hit that and you should see an edit option, where you can change thread title.

I like the LX tails.... lookin good.
You cleaned that bay up nice! Glad to see the rust wasn’t too bad. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the build!

The LU47 injectors are a good injector nothing wrong with them. I do not suggest using those adapters, I would get a repin kit for EV6 and change the connector over on the harness.
You could also buy a set of Deka 60 or 80lb injectors for this project, both will plug into the factory harness.

My only problem is the "work perk" cash that I need to use only on amazon.ca.

I cant find a good quality brand name 60lb for less than $800cad.

Are they not suggested due to just the flow rate/hp? Also have you seen bad experience with the adaptors vs a repin? Figured it was plug and play, worth a shot before cutting the factory harness.

Your call on the injectors, I have no problems running very large injectors on small engines with MS.

I have seen the adapters fail or cause intermittent connection issues. thats an issue under boost

Got it. When you say re-pin, are you referring to splicing in new USCAR connectors to factory harness?
I am going to go with those injectors, again just because of the circumstances...if need more injector i will gladly upsize meaning the car is liking the power.

I also switched to the innovate mtx-l plus. I like the quick visual reference of the sweep vs just the number on the DB series.

Parts should start rolling through in the next few weeks!
