There was no fuel pump wiring upgrade "kit" when I did my combo.

It was [one] of the reasons why I did a BAP because I was considering running new wire anyway so... WTH

Not to mention that I was burning up the phone lines to Kenne Bell back then with questions. More than one person that I had spoken to, recommended the BAP for the same reasons I recommend it. The thing is rock solid. Headlights, A/C, Defrost; I can turn it all on at the same time and the pump stays steady. I have a similar device that keeps my coil saturated/steady with dials in the cockpit that I have set and forgotten (no need to adjust once set).

When he first started talking he mentioned something about upgrading the gears if I wanted to hear more noise and I'm thinking he's talking about whine, is that what it is? Does it not have the whine like eaton blowers on the terminators?

And with 280 to 300 at the wheels what can I expect at around 8ish PSI with all the upgrades that I'm planning on doing as far as fuel?

I think the super general rule of thumb is 10hp per lb of boost. So, again, super generally speaking you can expect an additional 80hp with the v3. I'm sure that number probably skews more on the higher side with other existing mods (i.e. maybe 15hp per lb of boost).

I figured it was round 100 but I got a call Scott well I'm going to text him I'm not going to call him until in the morning, but I know he said he's put blueprint engines in 302s long blocks and I guess they advertised at around I want to say 350 360 at the crank but he said with a blower some put down 500 to the wheels so I got to see if that's crank lol

Pretty sure your blower will get you there but not at 8 lbs.

So he said it is rear wheel with power pipe, 11-13 lbs, 9:1

At 14.7 lbs, you are effectively doubling engine output (minus mechanical losses).

Talking to a buddy who's building a 440 he said when he builds he likes to overbuild just to be safe vs having kind of right at the brink. He said he talked a tuner who said and he has a Vette too lol, but he said with that car for instance the tuner said he can take more than a few cars with the exact same combo and they all may need different amounts of fuel, they all will have a different level of rwhp. He said one car might make 600 hp and the other might make 650 and I was like that much of a difference lol.

I can understand sure they all will be different but I didn't think that much of a hp difference for the exact same combo but sure you got engine tolerance differences and such that could play a part, but that much?? He said basically what he said that for was that maybe with my car even though the 255 works great with 42's for a lot of people he said even with my 60's and a 255, maybe one day when I hit it it might call for more fuel than the 255 can supply ( he said the not the injectors running out but the 255), he said if that happens then you fry a piston.

So I told him I'm going to do a little more research on 255's with 60's with setups similiar to mine and see what the consensus was/is. Sure I'd rather be safe but if doing the 340 makes no sense especially not upgrading the lines, and I still have to talk to Scott this morning about what Aerocoupe said and using the 3/8 line for the return and adding a 8AN feed line. I have the other questions to ask him as well about the BAP.

That is just not going to happen. There are 8 second cars out there been running 255L since Christ was a Corporal. That's 700+.

You could in-fact, run your entire combo on 42s but with injectors being what they are today, there's no reason [not] to run the 60's. When I did my combo, most 60 lb injectors required a high impedance driver.

With my 42s, I'm near the top of the duty cycle. With 60's the duty cycle would be less.

Neither of these thing though, affect the pump. The pump is going to do 'pump things'.

Go through that "Fuel Flow Forensics" article I posted from the resource section.

My fuel bottleneck would be my injectors followed by the OEM rails and lines. A couple more pounds of boost would probably put me there.

It's not a [huge] deal to run the larger pump. If you ever saw a negative side=effect from it, it might be in the middle of a Texas summer and been driving a while at or below half a tank of gas.

gotcha. So you are saying that you absolutely unequivically know I'll be fine with the 255?

you mean running the 340? I mean well it is significantly more than the 255 would be. I saw the 255 for around $130 ish and the 340 is over $300 so if I don't need the 340 especially if not upgrading the lines, ( well might have him do the 8an line and use the 3/8 as return depending on what he says), I'll just save the money lol

I do. I'm probably 80 to 100 HP above your target and the KB makes that power from just off idle.

There's no spin-up like a centri.

I also have the BAP in the mix. So if it truly truly topped out... I'd give it another Volt.

what are your numbers again?

And does the V3 whine like eaton's on the Terminators? Do all SC's have a natural whine or do you need to pay a few hundred more to do something with the gearing to get the whine? NOt even sure how important the whine is I mean I guess some just want to hear it lol
