Best first set of mods

Ok, so my buddy just bought an 06 V6, and has no idea what to do to it first. I have no idea how the 06's "work" as far as modding goes as I am a 5.0 man. I was going to recommend the Flowmaster American Thunder kit, and a CAI, but have learned that you need a tuner to go with it. What else can he do to get it a little more peppy? Also can he slap on a blower running 8-9psi the way it is now, or would he have to upgrade everything(tb, injectors,....) Thanks and sorry if this was already covered before.

Yes he can put a blower on a stock car. The usually come with everything needed, including injectors and a tune. I would suggest getting some type of limited-slip differential first though, like a Ford T-Lok. Here's a list I made of power adders:

If he's going to get a blower any time soon, don't bother with a CAI. Most of them won't work with a blower or will be replaced. I like the ProCharger for the price, ease of install and power.

First mod should be an SCT X-Cal2 tuner... You need to fix all the underlying "issues" with the car's computer 1st... LOL!

Personally I recommend Alternative Auto (www.alternativeauto.com) but as long as you stick with the big names like Bamachips or VMP tuning you'll be ok...

I know this is kinda off topic, but do you need to reflash the computer if you put in a T-lok? If so, also I am assuming you need to get a special tune for the T-lok.

Not for the T-Lok. If you change the gears you need a tune to get the speedo to read correctly.

So what would be the best and cheapest blower for him to go with?

IMO, The ProCharger. You can get the 3 core, 9PSI kit from RPM Outlet for around $3800. It comes with injectors and a Diablo Predator tuner and puts out well over 300HP to the wheels. They are fairly easy to install and you don't have to tap the oil pan like some SC/TCs. Oh, you can also get a 3 year warrantee.
