What exactly makes a cam not be able to pass the sniffer when your getting your state inspection? I live in ny and want stage 2's but vt told me they dont know if it will pass it or not. anyone from ny have cams and pass?

basically what happens is there is a longer duration and a longer overlap of the intake and exhaust lobes. when the intake and exhaust valves are open at the same time, there are small amounts of unburned fuel that pass directly from the intake to exhaust ports and will show up as high HC's on your emissions test.
could i take my diablo predator and lean the car out for the run on the emissions tester then put it back to normal?
