Can I put 255's on 17 X 8.5 Y2K's ?

255's on 17 X 8.5's. Anyone know if I can do this and if there are any problems accociated with going this size on an 8.5 Got my new Y2K's and when I dismounted my old tires at skool to swap, I found 2 slits in the sidewall on 2 of my 245's. Hoping to go wider this time. Just in the rear.

255's will work just great on 8.5" rims. They must be replicas, because the real ones are 9.5".

If your talking the 00' Cobra rims (5 Spoke) they are 17x8. I got factory ones for mine right from Ford and they are 17x8. Anyhow Im running 255's on mine in the back and no problems at all.

hey i got a question what size tire can i get on a 16" pony on the front i plan on 245/50 16'' they have 225/50 on it now jsut wondering if it will clear the 245 and the cars a 87

True Y2K R wheels are 18x9.5"

Also 255s are perfect for an 8.5" rim.
