Canister inside passenger fender

Hello there everyone! I have a 1993 cobra I bought and the converted to a turbo car and now it’s back to a vortech supercharged car. There are a couple of things that have me stumped.

1. A white wire with a pink stripe is hanging down by the crankshaft pulling. It runs up into the fender and then I lose it from there. I have no clue on this one.

2. There is a canister in the passenger fender that has what looks like electrical tape wrapped all around it. I have also no clue on this one.

It’s been a mystery and I’m just trying to get this beast back in the road. The old owner disappeared after I bought it so I have zero help there.

Never seen anything like that before. So it’s a canister with electrical connections going into it? Have you tried taking all the tape off of it?

Where do the black wires go and have you untaped the “canister”?

I don't know what you got going on there but it appears that something got spliced into the Main Harness.

I'm finding a lot of wire color combos here:

I am curious if your Fuel Pump Relay is in the customary place for the same year GT.

Sorry here is some clarification,

The canister is one question. Does anyone know what the purpose of this canister?

The wire are in a separate harness. They have been extended and the white with pink wire goes to the front of the driver side engine bay and is just exposed dangling there.

They did remove a lot of the smog. the smog equipment is all gone and so is the ac. they previously turbo charged the car and converted it to a supercharged system

Take it apart and post some pics. I'm very curious. Thats def not factory. Maybe some kind of gps/ lojack. Did you trace the wires and see where they originate? You can pull the 60 pin connector on the ecu and narrow it down with a continuity check.

The ROUND one is a vacuum cannister.
The Hockey Puck looking one is part of emissions stuff (not sure which component but could be a check-valve or pressure relief).
The one wrapped in tape, I have no idea, however... All the wires spliced into that mess are black. Follow those to see where they go.
The dangling wire that you're talking about is likely the other end of the spliced harness you're looking at and somebody at some point, decided that they didn't need that wire.

And, I'm spent. The automotive spirits have told me all they know.

In other words: I have no idea what the last person did in there or why. You're going to have to shoot the wires and figure out where they are coming from and going to. There's no wiring diagram that will tell us what the last guy was thinking.

The canister wrapped in tape is not factory. Someone added it. Would need to trace it out and see where it goes to determine what it does. Not much i can see from the pic that is helpful for me to figure that out
