Yes they are. Running fox length rear 5 lug axles and the North Racecar bracket. Tires are 275/35/18 rear, 245/40/18 front

Thank you very much for the info. Looks perfect to me, so I’ll use your tire sizes when the time comes.

So what’s the difference between 28 and 31 spline conversion?

31 spline is going to be a stronger axle than the 28. I also elected to get the Ford Racing traction-lok differential, which has 31 spline gears also so that was the reasoning behind my upgrades.

Gotcha, so say I have 3.73 gears now on my 4 lug set up, and swap to 31 spline 5 lug conversion do I have to change my gears out?

You dont need new gears, but you will have to take the ring off the old trac-lok and reinstall it on the new trac-lok. The pinion will stay in the rear.

You won’t be able to just swap 31 spline axles into your existing differential. Like stanglx2002 said above, you’ll need a 31 spline diff. The trac-loc is 31 spline.

I figure my concrete has had enough time to cure so I decided to go ahead and wheel the 5.0 into the garage for the time being. Still no progress on anything but I’m super close to finishing the remodel inside the house and then I’ll be able to get cracking on the garage and car.

I’ve been patiently shopping for a clean set of 03-04 cobra front calipers. People seem pretty proud of them judging some of the asking prices. I’ll be pulling the trigger soon along with wheels and tires. I’ve also got a list together for maximum Motorsport to sort the suspension while I’m doing the brake conversion.

Really sorry I haven’t been around. I like the new site so far. Here’s some pics of why I haven’t been online very much lately.

Finished a very long home remodel up a couple weekends ago. What a relief. So I’ve been doing a few hours of work here and there in the garage. Finally have power and lights. Even half the openers are installed. Lol

Anyway, yanked the wing off the stang because I knew there was some organic material between the wing and hatch. This car obviously spent some time outside. It was a little messy under there but not bad. I hit the hatch with some ultimate compound on the DA and then followed with some regular carnauba and I think with a lot of elbow grease I could make this thing visually presentable with just my labor. For now anyway. My lift should be here before the end of the month and big things will commence on this car.

Just doing some extremely minor disassembly for cleaning purposes. While the cheese graters are out, I think I will do something that’s never been done before. I think I will be a pioneer and see how a set of LX tails look on my GT. Once you guys see that, everyone will be doing it. lol, anyway, I’ll get all these bulbs swapped over to LED, and I’ve got a pair of lx tails on the way. Just doing tiny projects for now because the garage isn’t ready for anything else for a few more weeks. But having the car inside and room to tinker with it feels real nice.

The other thing is this interior. It stinks. I tried some febreeze for cars, leave the windows shut, leave the car wide open in the garage. It stinks the whole garage up. Anything I can do, short of yanking all the carpet and seats?

Yep, I think I’m the only one who put LX tails in a GT. Just kidding

I guess it’s a moldy/musty smell. I already know the interior was getting replaced, just didn’t want to rip it out until I had everything to put it back. I’ll look into the Meguire’s kit for sure

Maybe pull your seats and carpet and let them air out for a few days.

I’m going to try to hold off on removing the interior until I have all the parts to put it back. I went a tad further on disassembly today. This car needs its own pressure washer. I’ll get it outside and clean all this up ASAP. Pretty sure I’m putting a cobra style rear bumper cover on it anyway so this can be off for now. LX tails and all the LEDs needed for the rear exterior are ordered.
