Well I dynoed my new 03 cobra yesterday. 2.93 pulley, offroad x pipe, cold air.
The car hit 400.1 hp with 433tq but we shut it down at 5200 rpms when we saw the a/f ratio at 14.1(whew). I'm very excited because several cobras with the same set up (without a tune) gained 40+hp with a proper tune.

Also this was on a mustang dyno that has been posting very low numbers. My stock GT posted 187 rwhp on this Dyno (ouch).

More good news my wife wants to keep our 00 gt conv. It sure is fun with the top down;even with the Bottle off the car. I guess I'm still a loyal 2v owner for now!!!

with how lean he is running, on a regular dyno he should see 430/440RWHP, but since he's running lean he's putting some aggressive numbers out, once he fattens that tune up, they numbers will go down, but not by much, good numbers! now drive it like a grandma until you get that tune:)

Lean ant mean

I thought the same thing;lean is mean. But this is not true when it comes to tuning a cobra with smaller pullies.
All the tuning places and all the threads say the same thing.
With a smart tune : 11.5-11.7 a/f ratio all the way through the pull: each said I would see a 35-55 rwhp gain.

got news for you-a lot of cars pick up more than 40hp with a tune and those mods.

the other day when i was at Houston Performance, i watched an 03 cobra with:
Catback, K&N, and pulley put down 400 at the wheels. Then they did a tune-picked up 40hp. Then they did another tune-picked up 50hp-and even after the second one, the car was running so rich up top, it was blowing huge clouds of black smoke out the tail pipes. I didnt stay to see what the eventual outcome was.....but im sure it was atleast 65hp more after the tune.

and Lean will not always make more power.

Mine is naturally aspirated...and when we tuned it, (it had been running rich) we leaned it out to the 14.5:1 range. Then i had him fatten it up, and it made MORE hp with it at 13.5:1.

Then i had the car retuned-and its making its best numbers yet at 12.5:1.
