Howdy folks! I'm in bad need right now. I have a 65 vert that I'm building to show off in a booth at Barrett Jackson, and I've had a major problem today. I had all the trim pieces around the front winshield chrome plated and they came in today and the bottom piece was damaged beyond repair during shipping.

I had these pieces chromed because, #1, they were perfect, except they had the factory s/s finish, and #2, i couldn't find any new ones. All I could find were used ones on ebay. I wanted these pieces to be very shiny.

Anyways, I have a fastback sitting in here and I examined the lower piece for a fastback/coupe, and they appear to be exactly the same. Does anyone know if they are? All the catalogs and research I've done shows windshield moldings for coupe/fastback, but none for verts.

All I need to know if the BOTTOM piece is the same on verts, coupes, and fastbacks.

If so, I can order a new one and have it chromed up to match my other pieces.

Thanks in advance, and I promise I'll post up some pics of this project as soon as possible.

windshield moldings are the same for all versions. As far as the moldings go, they ARE stainless and not a finish. A shop can buff them up to look like chome

Well, actually, the windshield moldings on a vert are different. The left and right side molding wrap around the windshield post, clip in around the gasket, and have screws that hold them to the a-pillar, and the top molding also serves as a base for the vert top rubber seal to mate up to. BUT, the bottom molding appears to be the same. I'm just wanting to make sure, as I have to leave for BJ Monday, and I'm planning on having my cousin who lives in Dallas, pick one up at Dallas Mustang and take it over to Dirty Joes, a local chrome shop there in Plano, and I'll pick them up Monday on my way thru. I live in Missisippi, and as you can tell, I'm bout out of time!

It is the same lower trim molding on all models.

Yes, the sides and top are convertible specific.

I suggest calling Dallas Mustang and verifying that it will fit (for your added peace of mind ) and verify that they have one in stock. Might even want to pay for it so that someone doesn't buy it out from under you.

when you buy it...have them physically go find the part.. Cant count the number of times I have driven 45minutes out there to get a part in stock to find out they dont have it

thanks guys! i've spent the last hour or so polishing a lower molding from a coupe, and though it doesn't shine EXACTLY like the new ones, it's pretty darn close. I'm going to polish a few more times, and see what i've got.

Dallas Mustang says they have one in stock, so I'm sending my cousin to pick it up, and i'll pick it up when i come thru Dallas monday.

Again, thanks for the replies.

Good luck in getting the repops to match the originals, not to mention the fit. You have enough time to find a set of originals, get them done, and have them sent to your hotel in Scottsdale, install them out there. You won't have to worry if the windshield leaks since it will be under cover and won't get rained on if that happens.
