EDIT: as of 4/14/2010, I decided to jump on the bandwagon & get a progress thread started. Rather than starting a new thread, I just had the mods change the title of my 5 lug swap thread to "EPIK's official progress thread"...

As some of u know, I have been working on putting together a 5 lug swap on my 91 Notchback. I tried to somewhat achieve this on a budget, but things have quickly snowballed into a very costly venture (typical of most of my mods)...I am still compiling a few of the parts & I should be done with this swap soon, but I will update this as I go, up until I finish....

Here is my list of current parts I already have...

-Deep Dish 10th anniversary Cobra Replica wheels=$540
-94-95 Mustang spindles=$100 (used @ the wrecking yard)
-94-04 Cobra calipers & pads=$250
-94-04 Cobra brake lines=$40
-13 Cobra rotors=FREE (used stock 30k mile rotors from my Mach which I replaced with slotted)
-New SN95 balljoints=$92
-New tie rods=$37
-255/40/17 BFG G force KDW2 tires (2)=$200 (near knew from a buddy of mine) I will reuse my 275/40/17 rear tires from my 4 lug wheels
-Ranger 5 lug axles & drums=$100
-Rear Fender rolling procedure=$200
-3.73 gears=$75 (used from a buddy)
-Bilstein shocks & struts=$500 (leftover from my old 95 GT)

Parts I will purchase this week....

-Maximum Motorsports caster/camber plates=$170
-Ratech gear install kit (wheel bearings, shims, etc)=$109
-weatherhead brake fitting adapter=$8.99

So far that is a total of roughly $2,422..So much for a budget swap!!!

Here are a few pics of the progress in my compiling of parts....

Deep dish 10th anniversary Cobra replica wheels....

Cobra calipers. These came black, but I painted them with red Duplicolor caliper spray paint & then sanded the paint off of the Cobra lettering...Looks just as good as the 10th anniversary calipers....

Caliper brackets after I painted them semi gloss black...

Used 94-95 spindles & hubs. Still need to clean these up & paint em...

New SN95 ball joints & Fox tie rods...Figured I might as well do em' since Im in there & my chassis has 172k miles & who knows if the previous owners ever changed em....

Bilstein HD shocks & struts....

Ranger 5 lug axles....

Ranger 5 lug drums Freshly painted with Duplicolor semi gloss black High temp engine paint...Yes I know discs are better & it will have them one day...

FRPP 3.73 gears...

Fenders getting rolled....

Final results of the fender rolling....

Stay tuned ladies & gents....

EPIK--That is a nice set of mods you are putting on the car. Did you buy that Eastwood fender roller? It looks like it works very well. Was it hard to crank around ane get the rolled? You are a guy who knows how to take some pictures man! Good job. Can't wait to see more!

BTW....I didn't see a 94-95 master cylinder on the list. You might need that when you put the Cobra brakes up front. Without it, the brakes might be mushy. I put Cobra brakes on a 95GT and they were mushy, so a fox will definately need an upgraded master.

Yeah, that will work too.

If you guys use that method just take it slow. Don't make big hits. Small small small.....work your way around. Take your time.

Why do you have to do it to the front? I'm lowered, on 18x9's and a 255 wide front tire and i didn't have to roll a thing. I don't have a bumpsteer kit either. At full lock i rub a little bit, i just don't go full lock!

Thanks man... I didnt buy the eastwood, I had it done by a local shop. I couldve bought the tool, but I would be afraid to use it on my own car... It didnt look too hard at all, but he did mention that Foxes are harder to roll than SN95's....

I will do the master cylinder soon, but I want to do the swap 1st to see how the brakes feel without it. If I dont like the feel, I will do it eventually, but honsestly, this car gets driven about 4 days a month so its no rush.... so do I need the 94-95 Cobra MC/Booster, or just standard mustang parts???

Although your car looks good with the new wheels, that swap is very limited for wheel selection, & u dont get upgraded spindles or front brakes when u do it that way..

I got em from OE wheels on Ebay & they are only available in 17's currently....
