How far can you go and claim "stock"?

Depends on who's asking. For most folks, my engine is "bone stock." . Only if I'm talking to a real car nut will I divulge the fact that the only thing stock is the shortblock...

well i tell everyone my gt has a stock shortblock, thats it
i tell everyone my cobra has a stock motor.
they can obviouxly here the exhaust, its none of anybodies business what else is done, but if you want to label, if you have stock h/c/i just say its stock with boltons.

It's stock until someone can prove me wrong . The car has the rough idle because I've got the spout connector pulled out and there is too much base timing .

Its not about changing something new, its about adding preformance. If you replace the spark plugs on a Yugo b/c the old ones are warn out can you go around bragging that your Yugo isent sock?

If you go to the local Ford Dealership and they replace your air, fuel filters and replace your spark plugs w/ all the same factory ones it came w/ then its still stock, it dosent matter that there "new".
