How much to gain from porting upper and lower intake?

My friend Kyle has a 91GT and he has basically the same set up as me,
ported heads, bigger valves, F cam, shorties, and a Typhoon manifold. He
was wondering how much hp would porting the upper and lower intake be
worth. I told him i definatly felt the difference after i did it but he wants numbers, so...about how much?

ported stock heads? if so, its not worth doing the intake. the typhoon prolly flows more than the ported stock heads, so the time/money into that would be the best investment.

These heads were PORTED, the runners were made larger, had bigger valves installed, 2.02 intake, 1.60 exhaust. These are 1968 302 heads i believe im not sure though, i think thats what he said. He's had alot of work done on them over the past year. He has a Typhoon intake, which is basically a cheap copy of and RPM intake, and these intakes are rough!!!! Go and run your finger over the asphalt on your street and you'll understand what i mean. And the runner mouths are definatly smaller than the runners on the heads, i would say by about a mm or two. I went ahead and told him to get it done. It can't hurt and your intake should always outflow your heads by a few cfm anyhow. But now im curious about how much hp/torque it should net.

It's worth it alright - but results vary due to the rest of the combination being right or not. The increase in airflow when done RIGHT is about 50-60cfm - it's up to you to turn that into power.
