The quest for a good sixty foot with stock drive line parts
Well ... you are takin a chance on breakin sumpin
The short belt is wise
but
Since you don't 1320 ... its not gonna be quite as effective
Bottom Line ... When you are just getting started at drag racing
Improving your track skills will be very effective

Check That
It will absolutely positively be the most bang for the buck spent thing
you can do to obtain your goal
Way more bang for the buck than trying to add horsepower
