I just reopened my FB account....then remembered why I closed it.

Lol FB specific pages are surely full of trolls who are never happy and have more :poo: talking to do than say nice or complimentary things. It’s like just give some tips and pointers, but one person says this and another doesn’t agree and next thing you know it’s turned into a keyboard fight between some morons filling up your post vs any help at all. I have all forms Of social media FB, IG, Twitter, pornhub.... wait what??? TikTok!! But yes FB is the new craigslist for me in regards to selling and buying. Lots of fox body buy/sale/trade pages, along with the marketplace which is great. Though you get the same dumb low ballers as Craig’s at least it’s just on their site, Craig’s was always weird bc as soon as I would post something I’d get emails from obvious scammers and texts and it was annoying. Can’t say when I’ve last used Craig’s to buy or sale anything honestly. Seem as though FB marketplace has wiped them out for the most part. I hardly post to my FB, Unless I post on my personal IG account which automatically posts to FB, and yes I have several IG accounts, personal, my foxbody page, and my Gatos each have their own IG lol. It really is a good thing for finding parts etc but there also is a lot of scammers so you have to kind of get hackerish when buying especially if it’s not local and it’s worth a bit of cash. Guess Social media is for some and others not so much.

If I haven't spoken with you in twenty years, there's a reason. The wife can use the marketplace and do whatever she wants, but I waste enough of my time as it is.

I don't have an account and don't plan on it.
For business reasons it could possibly be beneficial for me, but I really don't want to be at the mercy of the commenters.
And it would just be another form of communication I need to monitor.

Sometimes my wife tells me things people I once respected post and it surely doesn't add to my desire to join.
I'm good with political differences, it's the lack of basic human decency that I can't tolerate.

I'm a straight shooter and facebook is not the place for that. People don't post there for the truth, they just need attention (oddly enough, they post stupidity and think they are going to get positivity).

I don't have the app, but my phone let's me stay signed into my wife's account, this way if someone sends me a market link, I can see it.

For the most part I lurk. I can't comment...it leads to a :poo: show. To may people who don't know their ass from their elbow commenting on hack-job fixes and laughing at people who actually explain the correct way to fix it. I give up....especially when my blood boils when someone dispenses incorrect and dangerous brake swap tech.

Marketplace has it's uses. I've gotten cheap parts and sold stuff though it.

The Mustang pages don't compare to some of the electrician pages i'm on. WOW! If you ever want to see a bunch of "professionals" just :poo: all over each others work, that's the page to go to. Brutal.

I have never had a FB account, my wife does and I don't even care to look at that. Is the FB Marketplace worth getting an account??

It’s definitely worth the browsing, not just for car parts for a lot of things in general. The market place is a broad selling place and has its “departments” you know auto parts, garden, etc so I’ve found a lot of stuff all around. There are also other pages like one I follow locally which is Austin mustang parts but I also joined others probably like 5-6 that you can just scroll through and see what junk is out there for sale. They usually ask you stupid questions to join in before you can go in and look around like what years are the fox body considered, what does SSP stand for, do you own a foxbody? Lol pretty dumb but I scored some great things so whatever, I just try and join in on the fox body parts for sale pages.

Yes. The marketplace makes it worth it. I sometimes browse random stuff and see cool stuff locally cheap. That's how I stumbled across a pair of original Model T wheels and tires that i have hanging in the garage.

I've also come across tools pretty cheap. My current lawnmower is a $40 FB pickup because it didn't start. Carb was all gummed up.

Hmmm. Maybe Ill get on my wifes FB and check it out. Not that I need anything right now, but don't want to miss out on something either.

I have an account so customers can find me... and so I can get tagged in a post when some dip:poo: tries to talk :poo: about subjects that they are not knowledgeable enough to hold a conversation about.. I say my peace and move on, if I don't get tagged I don't respond at all.

All of the big ticket parts I've bought for my car lately, doors, heads, intake, cam, all where found on marketplace. The one thing that sucks is when you find something you want to buy and it's someone who won't respond to messages.

Ive had a FB account since 2005 or maybe 2006. I dont know that I have ever posted anything on it. There is stuff there that my wife put on there. I am friends with a lot of people I went to high school with, but thats about it. I get on and look around. My wife lives on FB so she tags me and that lets people that I'm friends with that care see what we are up to. Now that we have the kid running around the grand parents use it to keep up with him. I dont read the crap on there, but if I spent any real time looking through comments I would probably unfriend half the people I'm friends with.

I really like MP. I really dont like the people though. I sell a lot of stuff and I hate all the false commitments. It really sucks when you give someone lots of specifics and write up lots of details, because they asked for it, and then they just ghost never to be seen again. I would however recommend it to anyone looking to buy used stuff. My dad recently opened a FB account just so he could use MP. He has bought so much stuff in the last 6 months that it's hilarious! He has found some really good deals though.

On a whole I dont like FB. Because of what FB's management has turned it into. I dont really mind the people voicing their opinions, but I dont like being data mined and spied on. I really like MP though. It did kill craigslist. RIP craigslist.

You seem like a pretty sharp guy, but this post makes it sound like you too are in need of attention.
When you see something and you can be helpful, be helpful.
But being part of facebook so you can get tagged and come in set people straight?
Using poop emoji's probably isn't helping how it sounds either.

There are going to be people wrong about every subject, is it really worth showing up every time someone tags you to correct them?

Oh My GOD!

it's like a bad acid trip. What a :leghump:in monumental waste of time.
I spend too much time doing stupid sht here, but when it comes to FB, you get to have an opinion about everything....And with every opinion..there are dozens of people that either like, or dont like what you have to say.

I shut that sht off.

That's really funny, not one I've happily ever tried on. I like watching these court shows, most seen cases tried.

Cell phones & FB people all pissed off at other family members. Raging morons living their boring lives on FB. It's the jerry springer show via a keyboard.

you misunderstand or maybe my way of wording the statement is incorrect. "we" build products and sell them, when someone is attempting to make false negative statements about said products and someone tags me in the post to defend the product and company is the only time I have interaction of FB besides giving free advice in the tuning forums. I am only of FB so I can easily talk with my customers and potential customers.
I didnt use the poop emoji SN does that for you.
