Maybe Getting Another car

Hey,

Yeah so around here there is an 86 notchback for sale...used to be a 4cyl now a 1992 5.0 and T5 in it with 45,000 on it and also has 3.73s in the rear...The body has some damage to it and minor rust...right now I havent really seen the car or pictures of it since the owner doesnt have them...He is selling it for $750 and has used it as a daily driver...My question would be do you think that is smart to get and also I would probably be going in on this with 3 of my other friends?

Thanks,
Dan

most likely all 3 but the thing that i am really worried about is when we put insurance on the car and what not...if something happens one of is screwed or we could make it a strictly track car and just run it at the track since you dont need insurance

Also my two other friends that i will mainly doing it with, will be getting mustangs in the spring next year...My one friend will probably getting an 02-04 GT coming from a Nissan Sentra Spec V that he will sell (mom wouldnt let him get an V8 when he got his license) and my other one is going to be getting an 05+(has a really nice done jeep and an STI that he will be selling)... They both plan on supercharging there cars too...so I dont know if it is a good idea to get this car now if we are never going to have time with it since we will have our own projects.

No offense: Never share a car.... especially with highschoolers. :nonono: Not a single one of you know for sure where you will be next year if you are Seniors. If one does more work on the car, or whatever, it'll be a mess.

It sounds bad from the word go. It should have 1 owner and 1 insurer. What if person A is the insurer and person B gets drunk, drives and then kills a mother and son in a crosswalk? Person A (the insurer) is liable... 'nuf said.

There are loads of good deals out there, keep your eyes and options open.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

but it for yourself. everything is good in theory until reality hits you in the jaw. one, if not more, of you cats is gonna start footing more of the bill and then the fighting starts. $750 is chump change. flip a few more burgers and keep it to yourself.

yeah...we are all in college and are all in the same town...no one goes away to college, but i was thinking the same exact things as you guys are saying that is why i made this thread...Right now i use my car that i have as a DD and pretty much a project too...As we speak im finishing up the wiring on my nitrous kit that I am putting in and then when i get my tax return and money from christmas and my bday im getting some heads and cam for my car.
