hello i have a 1989 ford f150 with a 5.0 in it and 3.55 gears. i was thinking of blowing some money on it. im in the prosess of changing a speed density to mass air flow. instead of adding the stock mass air flow from the mustang i wanted to upgrade to somthing more agressive yet still reliable. i will be adding some mods to the motor once i get some cash. i want to change the intake a set of brodix heads and a cam and roller rockers. i recently replaced the stock exhaust with longtube headers and dual 2 1/2 pipe (no cats) being that i live in saskatchewan i wont be neading any emissions leagal crap. it is about 3900lbs so i was wondering what mods have some of you lincoln guys been doing.:SNSign:

do you have any suggestion on what parts i should start with? i will soon be buying a shift kit and bigger mass air. what are the best heads for a 5.0 the brodix look pretty good to me with an edelbrock truck intake and a bbk 56mm throttle body i would like as much info on building the topend of a 5.0L as i can. also what parts will interchange between 88-95 stangs thanks for the help

You're heading in the right direction starting with the MAF conversion. Only thing I can think of is don't go too big on the MAF meter or throttle body if it will stay normal aspirated. I made the mistake of using some great heads without the right cam and intake. The power was awesome above 3500rpm, but the streetability was yuck! It needs to be a good parts combo and be tuned for the setup.

Don't know what plans you have for your car, but at 3900 lbs I would add more than 3.55s. You are on the right track, H/C/I will get you moving, maybe a roots style blower can make that truck feel a little lighter.

it is a truck and i was thinking of slamming in some 4.11's or 4.33's. and how big is too big for mass air flow and when do you caleberate it to injectors (im assuming that you need to change your injectors to somthing bigger than stock after all these mods) i found a great article on FORDMUSCLE about the mass air but nothing more. i was talking to ppl on a ford truck site but they dont seem to be as helphul as you guys here thanx for the input.

i don't know much about cams but there is a wealth of info on these forums. Are you going to 302? stroke out to 331/347 or put a 351W in? These are all questions you should ask yourself. For the $ (302 wise) TrickFLow topend kit seems pretty popular as it eliminates part-matching and it's proven to give a nice healthy gain and it comes with all the little things, but if your willing to wait and shop around there are deals to be made everywhere.

i bought a mustang motor to have rebuilt and upgraded. not looking to do anything serious at all, just wanted 100 more horse than the towncars stock 150hp e6 headded motor. went on a budget, and with hypo pathetics because i never plan on adding boost or spray, and they were cheap. i may go with a different cam before its assembled and installed probably in spring.

alot of the parts came from ebay.
88 stang 302 bored 20
hypereutectic pistons with 2 valve reliefs part no H273CP20
gasket matched e7s, 3angle, new springs and retainers, bowl grind.
1.72 crane rr's
mac equal length shortie
ported explorer gt40 lower and upper
intake spacer needed to clear rails for towncar application.
65mm tb
cam crank polish new bearings
bosch injectors
mark 7 LSC trans w high stall

all new pumps and accessories.

i need to use a mark 7 ecu to retain my cruise control because the mustangs is wired differrent than lincoln.dunno about f150s.
