I haven't had good luck with Tasca. Seems like the website says it is available and then you place the order and it is discontinued...
What was cancelled?
That isn't true in all cases.'86 under hood pads are just flat panels, not molded like some of the later models.

Dang. Only get 4 minutes to edit a post........That isn't true in all cases.
My 85 GT still has the original hood insulation, and it is definitely molded to fit the many contours of the underhood reinforcing. Also has cutouts (perforated punch-outs actually, I think) for the emissions label and the underhood light.
A flat panel would rub on all sorts of engine compartment components. Even the molded one rubbed on the air cleaner, hence Ford coming out with the TSB providing 2 additional u-shaped clips in the air cleaner area, in addition to the numerous "christmas tree" clips from the factory.

It's SO ODD that they didn't measure before hand... hmmmm?so I messed around with the carpet tonight to see how it could be made to fit. Seems the issue is the seatback flaps themselvss
If I set the flaps where they should be, it causes all the material to bunch at the rear of the hatch, like this.

However, if I lay the material in the hatch the way it should fit, the creases actually align pretty good, almost perfect.
However…

Now the excess material rides up the seat back flap. The white duct tape is where the new flap for the hooks needs to be.
So yeah, I need to tell ACC to chop 1.5” off te top of of the seatback flap, on a carpet they have sold thousand of.
This should go well.

I am thinking that goes back against the tail light panel as I remember fiddling with it when getting access to the spare tire, will check next time I go to the garage.Anyone have a shot of the sunroof strap bolt location in reference to this bracket?
Can’t find the hole

Maybe overlay both and show them the difference between the original and theirs? Not the best pictures since it was dark out when I got home.so I messed around with the carpet tonight to see how it could be made to fit. Seems the issue is the seatback flaps themselvss

....I did end up purchasing the Daniel Carpenter repro 1-peice sunroof seal. Hopefully the fit is spot on. I bought it from LMR. ...
So the rear glass with defrost is worth some good money? I currently have the glass with defrost on my car but the replacement hatch I purchased does not have the defrost lines and wasn't sure if I should swap out the glass. There’s no way this is still available.? I see NOS glass on eBay for $1k+
I need to wait. My rear gas defrost lines are all jacked up and I want new glass. Hmm….

I watched a few videos on the carpet install and looked around a bit on FB and think others have the same issue but they just aren't as picky about it. For instance the install video on CJponyparts shows the carpet having the same overhang on the seatback flap. They play with it and then don't show the material bunched up at the bottom of the hatch. I've also seen a few pics online of the rolls of extra material as well.
For example. You can see the extra material is just bunched up at the bottom of the seatback. It's harder for me to do this because I bought the mass-backed Essex style carpet, which is thicker and doesn't bend as well like this.
