331 good choice!! i dont know if its worth the extra $ to go 0 balance on a street motor if it were a track car spinning 7000rpms all the time it would be worth it, 28oz is all you need imho besides if that is a stock block 331 with your supercharger i would save for a dart or R block etc. I wish i went with a aftermarket block now or a 351 stroked big! is next for me.

The builder prefers the zero balance and as bad as I want to dart block it. I just don't have the budget for it . this will last me a bit for now and no more vibration issues .

Gaskets, oil pump , pick up - all ordered
New internal balance balancer ordered .

just need to order the flywheel .

Then it's just a matter of getting the old motor out taking heads and everything off and shipping it out . Should have the rest of the short block paid for next week too.

The heater core gives me dry mouth and chills. I need to get on mine as well, but have too many other issues at the moment.

I will make a suggestion and take it however you want to. You are making a mistake going stock block again. If you are going to do a stroker and dont have the extra funds for a nice block like a sportsman or at least a SHP sell off the supercharger. You will be able to come up with the $$ no problem then. It is much easier to bolt on another supercharger down the road then it is to completely rebuild the engine again. If you were putting another stock bottom end in it from craigslist that you picked up for $200, no problem go for it. But this is going to cost a good deal of cash as it is. Saying this from personal experience.

A well thought out 331 will make 400 whp through a stick which is not far off from where you currently are. It would also be faster then your current setup.

Couldn't agree more! The piece of mind alone is worth the extra $$. How many engine combos have you already gone through? Probably to late as you have already started another stock block build. Hopefully it doesn't turn around and bite you in the *** again. Sounds like trouble again to me.

^ tough to argue the logic Jeff. You can find a used aftermarket block relatively cheap.

I understand the logic here . I also have to draw some kind of limit as to what I am gonna spend . Since were on the subject I have a friend that has a brand new boss block that he may part with for 1100 to me . in that case I will be all set to go . I am happy with the blower stuff even if I was still limited to the hp I am at . nothing is done or out of the realm yet . As far as motors go I bought a long rod motor used the broke a crank NA , and this stock rebuild bottom end that originally came from the car . that's it this would be the next time around .
