Roush need a little info about s-281 saleen

well im looking to buy a 2000 s281 saleen mustang and have found one for just under 20k. its in my price range and is in very good condition . well the part i need help with is what are the specs on this car i know its a 2 valve 4.6 gt motor but what else, is there a difference? i also found a 2004 mach 1 would this be a better buy. I do plan to mod both cars just bolt ons (x-pipe, exhuast, intake, chip) which will be a better buy i have my mind turn slightly to the saleen because i like the styling just a little bit better. i would like to see others pov on this though.

is the saleen supercharged? If its a supercharged car, then with bolt ons, the saleen is faster. If its naturally aspirated, then the mach 1 is better since it has the 4v cobra engine in it. Styling and handling, the saleen wins at both pretty easily. however if you start doing suspension mods, its the same chasis and they become a draw...but with that being said it'd take less money to take turns well in the saleen then the mach b/c the saleen already has a larger sway bar, good springs, and bilstein shocks/struts.

Its really going to come down what you want most. Styling and handling, or a better base car to start with (the mach1) That is of course assuming hte saleen is not supercharged

As tim just said, the mach has the better engine, but the saleen far out does it in style.
In the case of a mach vs saleen, i'd take the saleen. Never really thought the mach's looked all that good.
I'd get the saleen and do an 03 cobra 4v eaton conversion on it.
