I have the results posted in another thread over in the talk section but I know not everyone goes over there as often so here are my Dyno # and track Results.

Over all Im more then happy considering the Dyno's are still not as high as they can be b/c I need a chip to fix the lean condition up top and w/ more pratice the 1/4 times will come down. All I had for goals was to hit 350 RWHP and break 13's at the track, I accomplished both

Dyno Results

370 RWHP @ 4,900 RPMS 425 FTLBS ( Stock heads and Cam )

Track Results

13.737 @ 103.10 2.1 60' My best MPH was 106.46

Just need more time to pratice at the track. Once I get a chip burnt or figure out why its leaning out at 4,900 then I'll be back to the track for some more fun.

To make this Tech I'll ask what I should do to keep my car from leaning out at 4,800- 4,900 RPM's ?

1.Should I buy bigger injectors?

2. Should I ditch the C&L and try and find a PRO-M calibrated for a S/C?

3. Should I go get a dyno tune and a chip so they can richen it out up top ?

yes get a a dyno tune. DEZ racing, who burnt my chip tuned out a HUGE dip i had in the mid-rpms. With a dyno-tune chip, they can basically addd fuel, etc whereever you need it.

Thats what Im thinking but this is how it breaks down by price.

So which option is the better bang for my buck?

#1. Bigger injectors - Prob $300 for a used set of 42's

#2. PRO-M Mass air meter- $250 for one calibrated for a S/C

#3. Dyno tune and chip- flat rate of $400 until the A/F raito is right and the car runs the way it should.

Are you now running those 30's without a FMU?

As for which option......I'd say not which but do all of em, lol.

I don't know much about C&L mafs but can't you just get a 42# cal tube and then do option #1 & #3?

btw......The sc caled ProM is not a must have if your gonna get a custom tune. A Pro tuner can make a regular na caled maf work on your blown combo just fine.

There is no FMU on there now, its been sold on EBAY which I dont care anyway b/c I want the car tunned w/ out an FMU, its nothing but a band aid for a fuel starvation problem.

I agree without a doubt......but

With inj's that are too small ......a band aid is better that nothing

Is this the first time you've suspected there was not have enough fuel to feed your blown combo?

Yeah it is b/c I had no idea the car would pull 370 on stock heads and cam. Best case senerio I was hoping for 350. So it turns out Im making 425 at the flwheel and that prob is just to much for the #30's.

W/ a chip can It be tunned so it wont run lean up top even w/ the #30's b/c I dont want to spend the $$ on dyno tune + bigger injectors. Ive spent enough this spring as it is.

If I can get away w/ just the dyno tune for now so it runs right then I'll get a PRO-M and bigger injectors later on this summer.

In take 190

the FP was not droping at the end of the runs, it did a little but still within the safe zone, it just started to run lean.

There is nothing better then self tuning with data logging i have a PMS unit, with this u can lean or richen out fuel at any rpm and also adjust timing, it also has S/C tuning for A/F. This is the best bang for the buck

That wont happen and this is why.

1. $500 for a PMS or Tweecer unit

2. $$$ for a laptop to run the program b/c I dont currently have one

3. The know how to tune it properly, something that I dont want to attempt myself.

Here is my delima Im running into.

Is it more worth it to just go to the dyno and get the tune and chip for $400 and keep the #30's and the C&L .

Or Try and get a used ( or buy a new ) Pro-M 80 MM for #42's and get some #42 injectors.

I can do each of these for about the same price. The down fall is that w/ the tune I still have the #30's and the C&L so what happens later on if I throw on Heads/cam and then Im way out of the ball park for the #30's

OR

I get the Pro-M and the #42's but I still need a tune to get it to run right

I say step up to 42's now. They will allow you to grow, if you get a chip for the 30's you do NOT have very much room to grow in terms of power with those 30's and 190lph. Honestly I'm surprised that you didn't run REALLY lean with that power, no chip, and only a 190lph pump pushing into 30lb injectors.

The trap speed is suppose to be WAY higher than 106-108mph with the kind of hp you have. I'm only pushing around 300rwhp and trapping all day at 108mph. I'm thinking you should logically see some 115mph.

BTW- I'd stay FAR AWAY from used injectors unless you are sure they were in good working order and were just removed froma vehicle. If not, its more hassle than what its worth as I have seen a number of guys get bum injectors when buying used.

If the air flow/fuel needs (tb, maf, fuel pump, inj's, etc) of a combo are exceeded then that is a mechanical prob that a custom tune just can't help.

Another thing I've seen some of the power adder guys talk about is fuel pressure doesn't always mean everything is ok. A blown combo also needs an ample volume of fuel at the correct pressure to safely feed it.

I don't know, but do you think that 190 in the tank is enough? Might wanna do some research about that.
