New dyno numbers

I'll definitely head back to the track soon. I need to pick up a new helmet first. I should also put on some better tires, but I just don't have the money for that right now. I don't expect to see good times until the Spring.

Weather permitting, I'm going to try and hit the track tomorrow night. I don't expect 12's with street tires (I had a traction problem before, it has only gotten worse), but I'm hoping to see my traps go up a few mph. I don't think I'll be back at the track with any real traction until the Spring -- I need to focus my money on the suspension right now, it's getting kinda scary. The rear end is *really* loose at WOT, it feels like the suspension must be articulating all over the place. Time for some new control arms all around.

Traction = $300 = Pair of 275/40/17 Nitto DR's for those '03 Cobra Rims :)

They can be easily good enough to get you 1.8 60' times...throw you well into the 12's. Screw the suspension and other little bolt-on crap that'll help you go faster...it's of no use if you can't put any of it to the ground.

Of course if you tell me you're saving up for some Weld's and ET Drags, I'll shut my mouth now ;)

I can't do DR's for the street... I commute 40 miles round trip each day, and winter is approaching (which in Oregon means rain, rain, and more rain). I take the twisty two-lane roads into the city, so DR's would probably get me killed :rlaugh:.

And I am planning on some Weld's actually, but I was thinking instead of ET Drags I would go with DR's, maybe 275/50/15 BFG's :shrug:.

Ahh...I didn't know the Mustang was your daily driver. In that case, you might have a valid point.

I will say I drove my car everyday with the drag radials for about 6 months. The rain is really nothing to blink about with the Nitto's...BFG's I would say otherwise. But snow...yeah...don't even go there.

Yeah BFGs + rain = scary. But my nittos handle awesome in the rain. I drive my car every day, and the tread wear is absolutly awesome for the traction that i get from them. I would never have any other tire out back than my 275/40R17 nitto DR for daily driving. Well that is of course till i ditch my 9in polished bullits for a 10.5 Arthracite Bullits :drool: then it will be 315s.

Maybe next summer I'll try a set of Nittos on the rear -- that's probably about the time the stock Goodyear tires will wear out, at the rate they're going. But I do have a friend with an 03 Cobra that was running Nitto DR's for a while -- he took them off after a harrowing trip on the freeway in the rain, he barely kept the car from spinning out of control when it hydroplaned at 55 mph... :eek:
