Progress Thread New To Me 1988 GT - trying to set up vacuum lines for upper intake question

In my Opinion, thats a sign of wanting to do the job right......
I've been taking the car apart in prep for it to go to body and paint this coming up week. My original plan was to go back to the original paint scheme including the blue tape on the body moulding. Yesterday I ran across a video from The Infamous Project and he was assembling a car for a customer that just came from paint. They painted it J7 magnetic gray, which to me looks like my factory smoke color but with more metallic. I fell in love with the look of the car on first sight.
Yesterday I was convinced I wanted to paint it a single color, probably the factory smoke color or maybe the Magnetic Gray like the TIP car. Today I was looking at pictures of two tone cars that are smoke on top. I'm back on the fence now if I want it one solid color or two tone. I think I would like it either way whether it was one solid color or two tone but I can't make up my mind at this point. I was also thinking if I went two tone maybe it would look better with the darker titanium on the bottom? I like the idea of keeping the car's original color / pedigree, but it's not a show car, high dollar car, etc. I think I would rather have it whatever color(s) I choose versus keeping it factory colors and not being 100% satisfied with the way it looks.
I have attached some pics I found of solid color cars and also of two tone cars. My car is the one in the pics with blackouts on the headlights, and paint that looks like crap
What do you guys think of the two tone cars? Back in the day I didn't like them, they have kind of grown on me in the recent years but I'm not sure I like them as much as the solid color cars.

I like the way you think! That is one of the pics of the two tone cars that really caught my eye. I actually found that picture on Stangnet. The owner posted that the upper is YG, which is Medium Titanium and the lower is YJ but I don't see any listing for it. I think that is a very good point / observation about keeping the top the original smoke color but going with the darker titanium on the bottom.
I'm pretty sure my lower is the light titanium from the factory. I don't think it's on the paint code that is on the door sticker. My door sticker only lists 1D and 73. 1D is the smoke or I've also seen it called smoke poly. I couldn't come up with anything for the 73.

I just ran across a picture of what my original plan was going to look like. I was, and still am, considering the 10th anniversary wheels in anthracite.
The only difference between his car and mine is I think the lower on his car is the medium titanium; he posted his Marti report and his paint code is 1D and 76 whereas mine is 1D and 73.
I have to say I like the look of it. Hell, let's admit it, I like the look of pretty much every foxbody Mustang!

That does look good, I even like the blue stripe (typically don't like those ground effect stripes).

I'm very surprised I found a picture of a car with the same color scheme, blue stripe, and wheels! I was originally going to stay away from the blue stripe. I didn't think the blue stripe would look good but I was basing that off of the picture I posted of the car with the blue stripe but stock wheels.
I go back and forth on the ground effect stripe. I like it on some but not on others. I don't like the red stripe on this color combo.

Consider painting one base color and doing the two-tone with wrap.

Not a bad idea. If I decide I don't like the two tone I guess I could peel the wrap off...Consider painting one base color and doing the two-tone with wrap.

And you have to do the same prep for wrap that you do for paint if you want it to come out nice. Fresh but fully cured paint... Easy.
Does anyone know the specifics, or where I can find the specifics, for the lower titanium colors used on the two tone cars? I haven't found anything that clearly lays out the different colors and codes. This is the closest I found:

One of the next mods I want to do on the car is the exhaust. I think I'm going to start looking for and buying exhaust parts so I can do it when I get it back from paint.
I wanted to see what your opinions are on long tube versus short tube headers. I've ran both in the past. I'm not looking to squeeze every last horsepower out of this one but if I'm doing the exhaust I wonder if it's going to be worth going longtube. I recently watched a few videos on 5.0Tussin's channel. He went from short tube headers and I think a 2-1/2" off road mid-pipe to 1-3/4 longtube headers and a 3" mid-pipe and I think he only picked up a tenths or so in the eighth mile.
At this point, I don't see this car being more than a bolt on street car, stock short block, roller cam, GT40 or maybe some budget aluminum heads. For that kind of combo, would you do short or long tube headers?
