bolsters were fine, its actually very wide and fairly flat. they make a whole line of stuff, the sport's are more "street-car" seats vs some of the other offerings that have huge bolsters (the gts 2 have about double the bolster extension it looked like). basically to me they felt like a slightly firmer version of whats in my coyote (the foam is stiffer, which i like more than a seat i sink into). this one was black vinyl, i think when i get them i'll get the grey cloth so i dont slide around like i did on the leather/vinyl sn95's i had (amazingly the coyote is leather and i dont slide on them, go figure).
will be a while before i pull the trigger on them, i have one really good passenger-side stock seat on an office chair bottom that i'm going to swap in since the driver's seat now has a bit too much lean and twist for my taste.
Couldnt be any worse than the ramsDamn- we could put together an offensive line with these boys.

Much firmer, with no sag....but ride height increased noticeable. Had to modify my seat brackets considerably to lower the seats and to keep my head from touching the roof and putting dents in it everytime I hit a pothole.
This folks is exactly the reason I didn't go w tmi. On the 94-98 seats the upholstery is glued directly to the foam. So there's no getting off the old covers w out ripping the 20 yr old dry azz foam to shreds. Thus you need to buy the tmi foam at $130 a piece and then pay to have a shop shave the foam down so one doesn't have to cut a hole in the roof. No, I just have to slump a little. I'm gonna lower the seat bracket further this spring. My problem is, that I'm also running the seat track extenders from CJ Pony parts.....which also bump you up close to an additional inch in the seat.
Otherwise, the seats are great. Nice and firm....really comfortable. This is the way the seat foams should have been designed....unfortunately, it was the design of the seat frame itself that's the problem.
These cars were not designed for a person over 5'10" to sit in an upright, comfortable position....plain and simple. Just more of that marvellous 80's automotive engineering we all love.
What did you do to modify the bracket? I assume you cut a section of the "legs" out and welded them back together? How much can be removed?

Ha! Yeah I hear ya. I'm finding that almost all of the interior restrostion stuff is "one size fits most." Thus far all of the interior stuff I've messed w has required some tweakin and riggin'. But to the untrained eye it'll pass.Correct.....but the CJ Pony Parts extenders also add almost an inch of ride height to the mix as well. I don't think it was intended.....just a poor design.
Especially when you consider, guys that have legs long enough to justify a seat track extender, will likely have a longer torso to match.

Yeah but it's gettin' to be a b!tch to find oe parts.That's sugar coating it. A lot of the restoration stuff is crap. Especially the new door and window rubbers. They never fit right from the get go and when I inquired about the fitment, I was promised that they would soften and take shape after some use.

My $109 "oem style" lmrs headlights for my '95 worked out well. It kinda sucks though for items like headliners and carpet. There's no way to buy new "ford parts" for these items. I did the abs plastic headliner not too long ago and it was a pseudo nightmare. Holes didn't line up, had to trim, etc. As for the carpet well ACC is the only game in town and they get mixed reviews. I'll see how it goes this weekend. OP, sorry for the jacking with my rant and ramble. My seats should be ready this weekend and I'll give my opinion on them. I'm skinny though.I'm finding that to be the case more often than not as well. Some of the reproduction stuff is awful. Depending on the item the pricing isn't even that different. Couple items that come to mind are window switches and cowl grilles. Switches are maybe $5-10 more a piece and the cowl grille maybe $10-15. I've already bought NOS of both to replace the repros I bought only a few years ago. Learned my lesson and will always at least try to get NOS or quality used Ford parts.
I don't know about coughing up the $400+ those headlights are going for nowadays though...
