J/K, the cons are the fabrication(not bad, just fun) all the piping in the engine bay and underhood heat if you dont use wrap or get the pipes coated.
Pros: Instant power, no belt replacement, price(thats right, a NICE diy kit using new parts cost about the same or less than a SC-trim/Novi1000 kit new)
Yep, I think I have around $1300-1400 in mine, but I already had the fuel pump and injectors becuase I had a Vortech on the car before the turbo(never going back btw)ms93gt said:Agreed. It costed me 2grand for my diy turbo kit. $1,100 for the b&g hotside, $500 for master power turbo, $150 intercooler, $200 for misc. piping. I got a deal on everything but you just have to look.
90mustangGT said:The only disadvantage of a turbo now is "lag" but in a V8, as long as you don't go overboard with the size of the turbo, that isn't the big problem. Yes, you can get a S trim for about $2600 and it comes with a lot, but the turbo setup will have more, and a lot more power.

the KB however
90mustangGT said:Yup, and they suck a whole hell of a lot of power off the crank. The centrifical is a happy medium between the turbo and blower. Belt driven turbo basically.
It'll make boost faster than you think probably, as soon as the clutch comes out my car is at full boost...sucks for traction.lolms93gt said:When mine is finished I'm not expecting any lag as I have a .68 a/r and it should be fully spooled by 2,800rpms
