Ya'll had any problems putting a rack in your II's? Little bro has been texting me and asking me questions on the phone about things and now he's says the PS line fittings run too deep to screw into the rack correctly.
Any body had this problem?

What year?
I know for a fact that 76 and 78 are different on the rack, the thread is the same but the hose ends are different , 76 is compression and 78 has o-ring fitting.
Hope this helps.

His (98CobraClone) car is a 78. But he's had the rack for a little while. The real bad thing is, I'm in TN he's in Oh, so for me to say what the prob is rough, I'm hoping he'll send me a couple pics tonite and I can stick em on my website in case we need more info.

I haven't been able to snap pictures of it. but the tubing beyond the nut extends about 5/8" when I only need maybe 3/16" beyond the nut. If I can find my tubing cutter i'd cut it and re-flare the tubing out.

That seems to be the only solution right now, cuz the hoses won't screw in. Gotta go to auto-zone tomorrow for tie rod ends anyway......maybe i'll get a tubing flare kit, dunno.
