i took the mustang out for a little fun the other day,it was hot about 100 degrees and on the way home was playing with this honda civic.about a hour after i got home i saw a small puddle of fluid under rear end but it was not leaking anymore.took the car for easy drive to see if i could find out where leak was coming from, but no leak.so i let it sit for a couple of days to see if it would drip but nothing has anyone ever had this problem or have any suggestions

i crawled under it,the fluid was red but it did not seem to be coming from the brake lines so i pumped the brakes to see if i could get anything to leak but nothing, and the back of the rear end were the cover is is dry could it leak from some other place

Gear oil has a pretty distinct smell especially if its been in a rearend for awhile. If its red you might check to see if you leaking tranny fluid somewhere. The wind under the car while driving would spray it back to the rearend. If you were really lucky it would have been from someone else's car parked in your spot before you. But that kinda luck never happens for us, lol!

im not sure about the ring seal, but there was nothing leaking down the car from the tranny.it only leaked after i parked it and only the mustang gets parked there,i talked some other mustang guys and they said that it could be the vent,if it was hot and you drove the car that if the vent got cloged it could build pressure anf finaly blow out has anyone herd of this
