So is it possible? I just dropped a new motor in the 5.0 and it came with stock injectors but i ran my 77MM MAF calibrated for 24s on it and the check engine light it on.. Im gonna change it back to stock soon just wanted to get the car running and driveable..

ALSO

I pulled out my #1 plug wire and noticed the tip of the spark plug (facing outside) was ripped ?! I think this is causing some power loss ...

Another thing - The motor i got is an 88 motor with 32K Miles, i installed it in a 1991... Are the distriubuter the same? Should i do any changing?

Thanks

i think the dizzies are the same (still a TFI system). someone said there was a coil change at some point, but i never confirmed that.

plug wire: depends. how bad is it ripped? i would say yes replace it, but if it is superficial, you could probably dabble some silicone or something on it for the time being. always pull wires by the boots (not that you did not, just general info). i have ripped a few in my day - where i could not reach the boot and those stupid wire pullers dont reach or work. i snapped the handle in two on one pair. :)
dab of dielectric grease inside the boot can help with future removal too.
good luck.

No its not the plug wire.. Its the PLUG ITSELF.. The metal tip of the plug where the wire snaps onto is cracked open....

The check engine light is on so maybe either the MAF or the Spark plug was causing this?

oh i got ya, sorry for my mis-read. i doubt the plug being messed up (and possibly not firing) would toss a code. you would have known if it was not firing....as long as the metal tip of the plug was in the plug wire boot and making halfway decent contact, i bet it was functioning pretty well.

the easy way to find out is to pull codes. you are probably expecting a code for a miscalibrated MAF (whatever that causes), but you can see if there are others....

good luck.
