SCT Xcal 3 and EGR questions...

What exactly does EGR do? I know it has to do with emissions, but I've never been absolutely clear on it, and I'm curious as to whether or not I should have it on or off. Someone please enlighten me for I feel like a n00b.

EGR = Exhaust Gas Recirculation

Basically it recirculates some of your exhaust back into the intake for it to be re-burned.

I think of it like this...Would you want to be fed your waste?

Well you can turn it off, but unless you block off the port on the plenum where it recircs. then it'll still get some exhaust gas in there anyways. Some people also say it kills MPG's if you disable it. If its your DD i would just leave it on there. BTW you ever get them parts?

I've got the hoses, pads, and calipers. The rotors have been shipped out and will be here soon. The LM1s are backordered and won't be shipped out till the end of the week.

i have had mine blocked off for about a year now, and i have noticed NO decrease in gas milage....

yeah, i did i when i put my pi intake on, my stock npi intake and intake ports in the heads were covered in black carbon
