I’m thinking about using a Volvo power steering pump. It would clean things up a bit and I wouldn’t need to have the belt go way over to the one side.

This is big with the Coyote swap guys in the new edge, saves you from having to buy the expensive swap brackets. Gonna use it in my swap

What’s the price of these pumps these days? I picked one up a couple years ago for $75/shipped that was damaged in transport. I got my refund but never bought another.

I know the coyote guys love them, so how have the prices been?

That’s definitely cheaper than the $800 power by the hour punp setup

I've been reading up on this. Seems like a viable solution to getting more wrap from the belt around my AC compressor. Being turbo with the alternator strut tensioner I only get about 3.5 inches of belt contact. If I switched to electric PS pump and shorter belt I could get a decent amount of belt on the compressor.

I had actually been measuring and trying to find a way to put an idler pulley on this thing...but this would get rid of all that headache. I'd just have to make 2 spacers to take the place of the PS bracket.

Not sure on line fittings yet the factory ps line fits no issues seen that from a video on youtube channel premium fuel mag. Lots of videos and information out there to do this.

I bought about 10 of these from a few local salvage yards between from $25-$50 and was able to flip them all from $100- $150 they are also a ford part if nobody is aware of that.

Machined the plate that will be welded to the intake tube. Gotta clean it up a little bit more with a die grinder but it’s pretty close

Also I think I’ll need a pulley over where the ps pump is if I use an electric pump so I may just use the factory pump. I’ll have a better idea when I get more of the pulleys etc on and see

Probably a stupid question but your second pic. appears to be the supercharger impeller lobes,
does the scoring on them effect performance ?

Don’t think so. It’s on the back and was like that for as long as I’ve had it. They aren’t as bad as they look in the picture. The boost is made where the two mesh together.

Starting to come together. I wasn’t expecting an upward angle on the intake I may make a saw cut near the back and tweak it down and weld it back up. There’s a hole near the front corner of the blower I’ll use to have a stud go through to support the front but it’s pretty stout as is but I’m sure they’ll be som vibration. Still need a vacuum port and figure out where I’m gonna mount iac. Probably underneath and right behind TB. I’m gonna use one from a 4.6. I’m also dressing most of the welds and smoothing everything for paint.

Looking really good, that should flow significantly better.
Keep in mind the majority of the flow is done on the inside radius.. it looks a bit boxy in that area.

I agree. There is a radius in that area but it’s not obvious from the outside. It looks square but it’s not. I think the additional volume in that area will help. We’ll see...

I’ll definitely “bodywork” it and paint it. The tube has a lot of marks from the bending process, I think from the clamp that was holding it. Not sure what color I’ll paint it yet but probably nothing special. I do like the hydrodip idea tho.

More progress. I did slice it about half way and bent it down a bit to bring the front lower. I put in a mount up front for some support. Started filling and smoothing and realized I still need to mount an IAC and probably some bracket for throttle cable which I need to order still. I’ll get a cable and iac ordered today.
