Notice the center bracket mount hole and the center valve cover bolt line up. This center's the coils well and provides enough room for a filter or bulkhead.

I used short 1/4-20 stainless machine head bolts and silicone them in place a nut on the top side to space the bracket.

Thanks! I do have a nutsert tool. Nothing special but it installs aluminum nutserts if I use that I’d need to seal them and use sealer on the screw threads. What you did probably makes more sense

I got the coils mounted. I shifted them back as far as I could to clear the throttle and leave room for an -an 10 for a breather/catch can. I guess I’ll use those to fill the oil. Don’t really have any room for a separate fill.

Ya I gotta do something with that. I may get some stainless tubing and tig up something. I’m probably gonna replace my heatercore too which will eliminate some of that piping since I won’t need to loop it to the pump. I keep thinking about the best way to tackle it.

Needed an oil fill cap and couldn’t find anything I liked so I had some scrap aluminum and made my own.

Did you weld the AN fitting in place yourself or is that a bulkhead?

I welded it but it was a pain in the ass. I practiced a bunch but it seems when the two grades of aluminum are different it’s more difficult. Either way it’s solid but not as pretty as the other welds.

Repainted intake and got it installed. Finished coil harness with a molex plug.

Ok so I’ve been thinking about how to clean up this coolant line I had looped back into the water pump with the ECT sensor in a T right off the intake. I’m gonna replace my heater core so I can route through that. I’ll have to run them like an older car back to the core. So my question is can I put that sensor back by the heater core? I can’t imagine there’d be a big temp difference that would cause efi issues. @a91what what do you think?

Remember you dont have to use the factory sensor... if you use AN fittings you can use any thermistor that will thread into a port. Plenty of fittings with 1/8" npt ports

Ok but can I still have it further down the line near the firewall? Although if i use a smaller one with 1/8npt threads it may not be to in the way

I dont see why that would be an issue as long as its seeing coolant flow past it.

Little by little this thing is coming together. Still need to add a port for the second methanol injector and then I can finish the intake track. Little clearance issue with the IAC but I’ll figure that out no big deal.

Well I decided to tear apart the injector harness to clean it up since I have to reroute some stuff so I can also get rid of unused wires. Found this sketchy factory ground splice barely hanging on. Have to extend the tps wires and put the right plug end on the iac. Then I’ll reloom everything.

Thank goodness you decided on relooming that harness, because that could have made you pull your hair out with a bad ground like that especially if its the sensor ground or injector ground to the ECU.

My thoughts exactly! Its also a good reference for people having ground issues, that splice is right by injector 4. i had no idea there was a splice there.
