Progress Thread She’s a runner

I meet a new hood too. I've been fixing stress cracks and stuff on my current hood for the last 15 years. I just can't bearing myself to spend the money on one. I remember when you could get one new for 300 bucks.

Ya there’s still some cheap ones out there but I didn’t want fittment issues or a flimsy hood so I decided to bite the bullet and get the cervini

Hood came in yesterday. Had to set it on the car and see how it looked. I ordered aero catch hood pins so I guess I’ll install those once I get everything aligned
I also have the original headlights so I’m gonna polish the lenses and put those in.

Got the aerocatch pins installed. Wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be. On the backside I clearances only what was needed so if there was room to slide the retaining ring between the two panels I did.

Question for tko users. So stifflers crossmember with their tko install kit give you spacers to raise the back of the trans like an inch. Well that pushes the trans into the tunnel. I’m considering turning those spacers down an 1/8-1/4” how did you guys handle this? @90sickfox did you have this issue

I ended up just turning .100 off the spacers and it’s now not touching the tunnel. It was touching the rib right behind the shifter cutout. I reworked the H pipe and added cats. Don’t mind the crappy looking welds my neighbors breaker kept tripping. I’m ordering new tail pipes to clean up the previous owners work... once I get those I can roll it back home and finish up the cooling system etc.

Are you using a steel bellhousing ? If you are there needs to be a spacer where the cable housing Mets the bellhousing. It'll take out the slack. If not you need a double hook quadrant so you can move the cable at the pedal to remove slack.

I run a tko600 with aluminum bell, firewall adjuster, double hook quadrant, and stock cable.

I have an aluminum bell. I do already have a double hook quadrant installed when I did the adjuster a while back. I’ll crawl under the dash and move the cable. Thanks for the help!!!

For the two of you paying attention to my progress I have the car back home. Tranny, exhaust etc all done. I’m currently working through all the little stuff. I’m hoping to be ready for first fire by the end of the month.
