doing the 1d1 shuffle is a sure fire way to blow your trans (nottoofast50) unless you're looking for a reason to replace that pos aod, leave the damn gear shifter alone. If you want to shift it yourself, you need a manual valve body. I'm deadly serious here too. DO NOT SHIFT THE AOD'S yourself while racing unless you've built it for that!

Well, i guess my car really is a freak then cuz not only does it run faster than normal, but i've done the 1-d-1 shuffle everyday for the last 6 years and 56,000 miles. I mean EVERY time i drive the car i am doing it as part of my routine. When i go to the track, i do it as well. I AM trying to blow up the AOD as i am all set to do a 5-spd conversion but no matter what I do to it it won't die.

The 87-88 Speed Density stangs have a little more aggressive programming to them so they were a bit faster than the 89-93 stangs when stock

The biggest factor in this whole discussion is the driver.
Two different guy's can drive the same car and get times as far off as a full second, (more so in a stick car but still).

I don't really see anything wrong with your numbers. I just think your car is down on power from what it should be running.

This is one of my STOCK AOD timeslips. I think i had a cat-back and a K&N on for this run. I previously went 14.8 without any mods.

r/t .565
60' 2.286
330' 6.249
1/8 9.522
MPH 75MPH
1000 12.34
1/4 14.716
MPH 94.85

I am a pretty good AOD driver. I usually run my friend's cars for them and run better times than they do. Are you manual shifting your car? The 1-2 shift with 4.10's will be at the right RPM, but you should really backshift to 1 to hold 2nd gear til 5200RPM and then shift to Drive. You are picking up 20MPH from the 1/8th to the 1/4 so you aren't running out of steam up top.

But like i was saying earlier, with the same mods you have now, my AOD is trapping 100MPH while you are only doing 94MPH. Driving isn't the problem in my opionion

With the same mods you have, except i have 3.73's, here's my fastest time slip

r/t .503
60' 2.223 (light spin on Kumho 712's)
330' 5.993
1/8 9.002
MPH 79.34MPH
1000' 11.785
1/4 14.006 (ever so close to 13's with stock head/cam/stall AOD car)
MPH 100.03MPH
