So my new engine with less then 1500 miles on it may be ruined.

I got the engine cleaned out (enough I hope), and changed the oil. Ran it for about 15 minutes and the oil pump didn't lock up, so I suppose its OK. I had to pull the #1 plug to find TDC since when I pulled the POS dizzy I forgot to check which direction the rotor was facing. Plug didn't look good. So I guess the tune isn't as good on it as I'd hoped. On top of that, one of the two TFI module screws is missing, and it doesn't say Motorcraft on it, so it has been replaced at some point with a cheap one. Add to that, I watched the timing when it was idling with my light, the timing jumps around a few degrees at random and it seems to coincide with the car running rough. So it isn't stable. Oh, and the thermostat housing is leaking coolant.

Hard to get pics of the metal flakes, but there were some pretty big ones in it.

Good luck to you as well. Just spent time rebuilding a guys 92 gt engine with damn near the same problem and it's been a headache and ultimately a fun project with a good outcome. Hope the same for ya

Weird, I just realized I couldn't read any of the original post because the text was the same color as the background. Noobz347, is there anything that can be done about that, or am I just out of the loop because I don't use the dark theme?

Just saw this a moment ago.

The quick fix is for folks to NOT cut/paste from things like Microsoft Word. The WYSIWYG interface pulls all the text code with it and since Microsoft Word is usually black text on a white background, it pulls the black text over.

If somone INSISTS on copy/pasting from word processors then I'd suggest clicking the A button in the upper right hand corner of the text input screen and switching to the BB code editor before posting.

The rich text editor here was intended to be it's own text input processor and doesn't play well with others. :(

This is the internet dude...nobody types anything. I didn't even type this, i copy/pasted the whole post from Wiki.

Seriously, do you think its fine now? You got everything out?

Hope so. There wasn't much in the drain pan. I won't be driving the car a whole bunch now that I got my new car. So it will likely just get a few miles a week on it. I'll like still change the oil every three months any how.

Thanks to Gearbanger for the merge and unlock.
