I got my first Mustang when I was 17 back in 2002, a 92 GT. I remember easily selling the Pony wheels for $400. The going rate back then was always $100 a wheel, even just in average condition.

I sold that car about 06.' Fast foward to now and I'm on my second Stang, another 92 GT. But browsing through parts I quickly noticed the price of used Pony wheels is about $200 a set. I missed 5 or 6 years but what happened?

Just curious.

Five lug parts became a lot cheaper and the demand for pony wheels fell not to mention the mass produced Chinese knock off wheels have flooded the market so pacer and center lines are no longer your only other options.

Yea, the sheer amount of people going to 5 lug has killed the value of anything 4-lug. I remember when 4 lug "Cobra Rs" were the bees-neez, now you can't give them away.

16" Pony wheels were the baddest wheels alive!!!! Now when I see them on a Fox...they just look old and small.

Yup, everybody with turbines wanted Pony wheels. Then everybody wanted 4-lug Cobras. Then everybody got 5-lugs. I'll be doing the same to mine next year... As the wheel turns...

If someone had left a set sitting on my lawn in the middle of the night, I'd have felt robbed.

I bought a mint set of Bullitts for $250 and just recently sold my stock ponys for $250. $400 for a set of ponys is outrageous at this point.
