Seems to me I recall something that wanted me to sync the fone to the big screen. I'll look into it.

Be careful with what you do in front of that big screen.... Big Brother is watching....

I was called a liar on another website so....... One of my coffee buddies ( Geezer Coffee) just bought a new 80" big screen TV.. He was having trouble getting it set up so he called Samsung help line.....

While chatting with the rep on the help line the rep said " Thank you for your service"... It took Don a few seconds to figure that one out, but Don was wearing his Vietnam Veteran shirt ( don was in the Air Force for 24 years retiring as a Senior Chief and was in Vietnam AND over in the sand land)

Don says " can you see me? and the rep says " yeah I am watching you as I help you, your new TV has a camera in it".....

So be careful what you do, they can listen too.......

Got the short block cleaned up a little, paint still good on it, did some touch up on the hot lube container along the bolt holes, then jizzed up the corners and stuck the gasket on, laid the container in place and got about half the bolts started when I realized I failed to use the rail that goes along the bolt holes in the pan after that snafu I torqued the bolts the required lb/ft called for, I did apply some lock tight to the threads, don't want any falling out.
Now for pics

Now it's leak free (?) and ready for heads
Yes, since it's out and on the spinning engine holder on wheels, it would be wrong not to.

Let's get an update, got one head mounted and discovered my 'clicker ' torque wrench wasn't clicking every time so jumped on the google horse and found a Craftsman 1\2" drive ' clicker' at Lowe's for a paltry $65 that locks the adjusting wheelie handle, a a must have, only to realize that ALL of them are that way now, man got spoiled having an entire mechanic shop full of every tool needed, drove down there only to find the Craftsman was over $200 so I bought a Kobalt for $96. Maybe I didn't read the listing correctly, temporary dyslexia ? Is there such a thing? I needed one and it was inexpensive, now to check those head bolts, I used Mahle bolts and just happened to pickup a piece of paper that gave info for installing them, I already used my magic book to confirm torque numbers (65-72lbft) and sequence, done enough to know but smart enough to confirm, well the paper instructions said 85-95 lbft the old 'clicker' was waaayyyy off, they are all set now at at least 90 lbft. I feel much better now.
on to cleaning up the other head, not that it is filthy or carboned up, a little background on these GT40Ps, bought new in early 2000, installed on a rebuilt 5.0 block, stuck what was supposed to be an E cam, which turned out to be a B, stuck it in the 'Junk Pyle' and it ran great from 3500 rpms and up, under that it was like driving hell, idled good, down right sexy in fact, but had this buzzing sewing machine that I knew was not right, all this before my days, in frustration I yanked that engine out and stuck this one in, so these heads have just a few miles, maybe a hundred or so. I eventually pulled the heads and found that I had a block/pistons from a crown vic, the valves were just touching the top of the pistons, no damage luckily, just a witness mark on every piston.
Keeping the stock HO cam this time, lesson learned.
I'll catch up on some fotos later. Y'all have seen it before.

Yeah, cept the crown vic/towncar and pickups had non HO engines in them, they were lower compression IIRC.

Some pics for........ well because none of ya'll have ever seen what a GT40p head before.
I will say that while I've got it out Iam gonna address the burnt plug wire issues I, and others have encountered. It may involve the bashing of header tubes so beware

Nice, what valves are you running in those heads? I got a stock 1990 h.o. block that i intend to do a tfs stage 1 cam and gt40p's in as well. Got any pics of the header mounted up?

No pics yet, near as I can tell no issues with the passenger side header but will check again. I'll post pics when I test mount them with the engine on the whirly gig on wheels.
I believe the valves are 2" intake, don't recall the exhaust, whatever was stock.
Keep in mind those heads run out of breath around 5500 rpms. Didn't look at your cam specs,

Trick Flow® Track Max® Hydraulic Roller Camshafts for Ford 5.0L

Camshaft, Hydraulic Roller, Advertised Duration 275/279, Lift .499/.510, Lobe Sep. 112, Small Ford, 5.0L, Each

This is what I'm looking at. it's close to an E303, slightly less duration a little more lift, good LSA. From what I've read it works well with gt40ps, price is right around $300.

The short style headers seem to work better with the Ps but I have long tubes.
