i have steeda sport springs for my 02gt and i cant make up my mind on which shocks and struts. i don't want to lose too much traction (4.10's) but i want good handling without it riding like crap. also i don't want to have to replace anything so quality is an issue. both are about the same price. does anybody know if its a hassle to adjust the d-specs?

Bilsteins are amazing, and the greatest part about them is their ability to drastically increase performance but not lose comfort. It's firmer but not harsh, it's a very different feel. I have been in a Mustang with the BTS package (Bilsteins and springs) and many other cheaper shock/strut combos and there is no comparison.

However I dont know about the d-specs

have d-specs

I have had by d-specs for almost a year now. In my opinion they are a very good quality product. However, the only complaint I have is that even on their softest settings the ride is still pretty stiff, I would venture to say harsher then stock. I got them primarily for drag racing, but my car is an everday driver and didnt want to get the lakewoods. I am pretty happy with their performance at the strip, so far laying down a best 1.85 60ft on stock springs. As for adjustment the fronts just pop the hood take out the special allen tool and adjust...the back on the other hand u will either have to remove the trunk panels or cut holes above the top of the shocks.

my .02. from what I have read the d-specs are ajustable on rebound and compression. they are kind of a track oriented setup IMO. I don't think they have the quality of the bilstein but that is personal opinion from what I have read.

for a normally driven car I would either save some $$$ and get the lower end tokico's or spend the money and get the bilstiens.

now if you car sees the track a bunch the koni's or d-specs might be an advantage becuase you could dial them in for track conditions.

the main thing that pionted me towards bilstein is just quality reputation. I have riden in oem cars (like bmw sprot package cars or ss camaro's) with 100k plus on the clock runing bilsteins and they were still performing great.

so the adjustment for the rears is a bit of a hassle on the d-specs. do most people only adjust the fronts most of the time? do you need to adjust the rears also for launching or is it only the fronts. bilsteins was what i was going to get for sure until i saw the price of the d-specs. i want to order them tonight if i could make up my damn mind.
