TR-3650 Clutch Installation

Just finished installing new clutch in TR-3650 (2002 GT), but there seems to be very little clearance (About 1/2 inch) between the clutch fork and the transmission housing (see first pic). Is this normal? Seems to be very little throw. Wondering if I did something wrong during install. Any pictures on an installed clutch fork on car would be helpful as well.

Those clutch cover fingers look awfully compressed to me. They are usually out more toward the cover than what I see. I'm not saying you didn't, but is the clutch disc in the right way? Or, the wrong parts? Did you check disc/cover depth to fork ball?

Glad you found your issue. I know it's a PITA to do it over, but now you know. One thing to keep in mind is most all clutch discs have a "hat" (part in the center that has the springs/spline) which sticks out a bit from the disc itself. That will always go to the cover side (unless they specify otherwise). Another good test fit is putting the disc on the flywheel by hand pressure and insure it sits flat. If not, it's backwards.
