Traction question with 4.10s....

I'm probably definately going to have traction problems with my tire setup now, being I believe Dunlop 275 width tire....

Will changing to a 305/315 tire on 10.5 rim give me enough traction in my stock 2000 GT to pretty much floor my first gear /w 4.10s?

I don't like the idea of getting a drag radial, but being as I'm maybe changing rims soon anyway, I would be able to bump my rubber up to 305/315.

depending on you r launch rpm, 3.73 or 4.10 will be easier to bust loose without drag radials. 4.10s do not make it uncontrollable, but you will have to learn what works best . For normal driving you will not have traction problems. It will be just like stock, only the rpms will climb faster. :nice:

wow, you guys got me worried thaT I WILL BE BREAKING AN AXLE SOON!!!(sorry caps)
I have 3.73 gears now and i'm having longtubes installed along with upper and lower control arms.... on top of my other mods... I'm also going to be running et streets at the track this year.... the guy at the shop told me i could run on my stock axles at the track! He's got a 93 turbo'd with about 470 to the wheels, says he runs the stock axles in his car and not to worry about it... I wanted to get the drivetrain beefed up, but i guess we'll wait and see....
