what else do i need to get into 12s

i got a 88 mustang with a 95 cobra engine with about 90k
(gt-40 heads 1.7 rockers the cam sounds a bit aggresive idk if its the stock cobra cam) track heat intake mass air conversion with 8ld "california tune" granatelli mass air 75m/w 30 lb injectors bbk fuel regulator stock cobra throttle t-5 tranny future mods 3.73 gears and pulleys

what else do i need to run atleast a high 12

i almost forgot it also has bbk 1 5/8 long tubes and a 2 1/2 bbk h-pipe

how do you feel about launching off the rev limiter? on slicks

probably have to dump near redline or it'll hook and fall on its face. Im at +350hp and anything under 5Gs bogs it.

what about shifting 5-6 k ? im thinking of also getting an anderson cam any opinions about them ?

shift point depends on the car, for the cam you cant go too big with those heads, you need to gear it first also. if your mechanicly inclined you can save a lot of money installing them yourself, more than enough $$ to buy a cam.

mods in my signature, plus 73mm maf, 70mm TB, 24lbs inj., 255lph.


your MAF and injectors are too big for what you have too, need some real good heads to match that combo.

my cuzns do all the work and dont charge me ... any opinions on any cam according to the mods im running ? what about ptv clearance on that z3o3 i was told f303 was the biggest before notching pistons

f is about as big as i would recommend using stock valvesprings and stock pistons....BUT with that said, dont buy a ford racing cam.
there are MUCH better cams available for the same money. just a personal preference.

look into the TFS-stage 1. 499/510 lift, split duration, IMO its a pretty decent cam for going in a stock motor. others will have their own opinions

no i was talking about the stage one trick flow
and yea i heard those were the best cams before going to custom ground

Get a custom cam...

GT40s, bolt ons, cam, 4.10s and some abusive driving netted my brother an 11.86 @ 114. I think you wanting to go 12s shouldnt be an issue!

damm you must be one hell of a driver ....hopefully it isnt lol one of my buddies was telling me that with what i have right now it would be one the high 13s low 14s im just hopping he is wrong

and about that custom cam ima have to wait on that im going to build a 331 o347 then ill get that custom cam with better heads
