just gonna stick with the oem fuse box. I thought about doing an 94 style fuse box but didn’t want to over complicate things. I am trying to avoid going too far with this
I meant just an aux location with a nice cover to hide stuff out under the hood without going into a fender. Not an entire electrical system surgery.

I feel like that would be more complicated, as i'd need to extend the wires. Coil is still going back in the original spot, and i need to route my hydroboost lines also in that spot. So even though i've cleaned it out on the apron, it's not going to be open enough to mount a big fuse box. Plus i did want the wires in the fender vs running over the tower.

Basically...i'm committed now.

Ok. After sleeping on it, here’s where I’ll mount the starter relay.

out of sight, but I can still access it if I need to jump it or replace it. Car will never be driven in the rain, so shouldn’t be an issue here.

also got my alt fuse. Likely will install on same location on other side

Reloomed and installed the headlight harness. Just need a few misc things and some small wire to wire up the starter relay and the car is almost fully wired.

I want to prime the fuel system and check for leaks, as well as blimp the starter over to make sure that all works.

If you run that headlight harness inside the top of the radiator support, it will disappear too. Just sayin.... I know you don’t want to go too far. Lol

I envision a flat, 2-piece block that mounts to the fender for all this stuff. You'd have to measure each thing in the block and make a custom hole depending on how anal you wanted to be. :jester: Just tossin' that out there.

Here’s a stupid question.

as I get more of the electrical online, I’ve been testing out all of it.

rear window defrost relay. When you turn the key to on but don’t start the engine , does the light come on and the relay click? Or does it need the engine running?

In the run position, the defroster light only comes on if the button is pushed. My exhaust and stereo are too old to hear that relay click normally, but I can listen later if the light goes on does not tell you enough. The light is only on while the defroster is.

Does it do it if the engine is not running? Just turn the key to RUN and press the defrost button.

mine doesn’t come on (it used to) but not sure if the engine needs to be running. I could go dig the wiring diagram out and check.

I have a couple small “glitches”. One is the defrost, the other is the BRAKE light doesn’t come on in the dash. With the baer MC there isn’t a provision, but it won’t come on with the parking brake. Bulb in cluster works. Not sure if I need to jumper the old MC plug to get it to work. Again, need to consult the wiring diagram

I am sure it does, but will check before supper.

Key on, engine off, the defroster light is off until the spring loaded paddle is pushed. Then it stays on for a cycle.
I then started it with the light on. The light went off. (I assume it cuts power to most everything to start.) then running, I pushed the paddle and the light stayed on.

This is on a 91 LX 5.0 with a functioning hatch defroster.

Brake light was easy. If you ever unplug the MC sensor permanently, the two purple/white wires need to be jumped.

Ok. Everything seems good. Just need to wire in the alternator fuse, and wore in the starter relay and electrical is done.

a few minor things to address before first crank
