Not so shy! We are cutting up hoods, if we want toTopic 1. I know this may be, only spoken in low voices, and in back rooms, but has anyone cut the hood under the air scoop to increase airflow? Just wondering. Was cleaning my air scoop/hood today getting ready for paint and the idea crossed my mine.
I did this with my 79 (and added a 87 up GT hatch spoiler). I did not know where the stock location was, so I measured, centered it over the carb. It looked right so I made it useful. Cutting a good hood was painful, so measure and cut carefully. Not so shy! We are cutting up hoods, if we want to
Big intake, big air filter... Why should one think first what parts fit under the hood, when you can cut holes...
In my build thread on the first pages @LILCBRA posted and measured his solution for more air filter space.
