Supercharger and What else do I need? 1990 Saleen Vert 5spd

Greetings..

New here, on my 4th Fox since high school but it’s been a while…

Looking to add a supercharger to my newly purchased 1990 Saleen vert (sod) wondering what all besides the SC kit needs to be purchased? (Reccomendations on what brand / style works best) what else needs to be upgraded to handle the air / hp increase?
Throttle body upgrade? Injectors? Fuel Pump upgrade? Chip? gauges? Please help….

Thx

You need:
A GT-40 lower plenum
75-80 mm Accufab Throttle Body
60 lb injectors
Walbro 255L HP Fuel Pump
Anderson Ford Motorsports N/A Power Pipe
Aftermarket MAF
Tune (however you decide to approach this)

Full length subframe connectors if you don't already have this.

This supercharger is good [all over] and not just at the top. Boost = Right Freakin' Meow

Do you have. This set up on something currently!

How does your car run? Surging idle or no issues?

I’m hearing that it all depends on the boost and output expectations. But the stock system doesn’t handle the additional forced air well without a bunch of upgrades
If this was directed at me, car runs perfect, just like stock up until like 3,500rpms when the supercharger kicks in. The 1220SL is a 'low boost' kit (5-6psi) so its all good with everything stock (except the fuel pump). It has an FMU as part of the kit.

I have other issues going on with my car unrelated to the supercharger where i get complete power cutout at like 5k rpms and something is wrong with my cylinder #7 (maybe leaking valve stem seals or bad piston rings, or something else) where i keep fouling that plug but i know its unrelated to the supercharger because the issue was there when i bought the car prior to putting on the Paxton.

I have plans to add 24lb injectors and a calibrated PMAS MAF, different FMU disks to make that work, as well as a pair of TFS heads i plan on installing all at the same time. I also have a bypass valve kit that i will put on as well. Once i figure out the tuning side of things i'll go bigger TB/EGR and probably go back to a stock 70MM SN95 MAF (which i have, to keep it 'stock' looking), as well as much bigger injectors (like 42lb +). But i'm not at that point yet.

Everything i do to this car is/will be SMOG legal in the end. The 24lb injectors and calibrated MAF (and bypass valve) are the only things i need to figure out since those are not SMOG legal, but they aren't on the car right now. I'm worried even with the FMU i'm maxing out the 19lb injectors. It passed SMOG earlier this year no problems though.

And if that is a real Saleen (and I have no reason to doubt that it is) then it is the easiest to install and remove in that all of your other parts can stay the way they are.

New gears are not required. The T5 is fine so long as you stick to street tires and are mindful of the weaknesses of third gear. Just [roll] on the throttle and everything will be fine. Smash that gas pedal like you don't care and the rear will quickly make the move to come and meet the front.

It's about the best street blower for a mild Windsor there is IMO.

On my combo, I made 460/480 at the wheels. Now, that is [not] what you are going to get when you slap this onto a stock engine.

What you [are] going to get is about a 60-80% bump in HP, a 70-90% bump in torque (depending on boost) and torque curve as flat as a table top over the entire useable RPM range.

With your car, I would love it and leave it. Because you're going to want to mod suspension and weak links after that... Not sure I'd do all of that to a Saleen.

This setup will give you butterflies when you go to drive it. Part from excitement and the rest from the realization that it is now actively trying to kill you. :coff:
