Build Thread '83 T-top Coupe - Welding Holes in My Rear

Hey Dave....I sold a m112 supercharger to a guy at work dirt cheap to get my 42lb injectors. He still has that thing and I can get it for dirt dirt cheap. Its for a Lightening pickup. The intake is on the top....not the rear like the cobra.

Because of added height a lot of people don't want them. This one was Ford factory rebuilt.

BTW, the M112 is just speculation to me. I really like the idea of the intercooler system on the sc. I was snooping the internet for 3.8 parts and ran across that adapter for the M112.

Plus I should stop going nuts with new ideas anyhow.

Fwiw my a2a intercooler was highly effective with the m90.

For you that don't know, they'll go between the sfc's and jacking rail.

Dave google, Queen, "I want it all" and live it! M112, get it. Stifflers braces, get em. Stroker kit, big heads...BOOM make it happen. Just remember to hide the receipts, lest the boom be the wife slapping you upside the head with a skillet!

They’re less difficult than the sfc’s by a margin. I don’t know how they would work with through the floor sfc’s though.

You need to get an additional piece to install them, a “jacking rail”. A piece of square tubing to weld along the rocker pinch welds.

Beyond that it’s a matter of lining them up and welding.

The car? He’s sitting down in the storage unit right now. The most attention he’ll get over the winter is just me going down there and finishing out the stripping of the shell and cleaning out of the interior.

Things will seem fairly slow just because of the amount of money rebuilding the engine costs.

After the engine is built I’ll start to get the rest of the drivetrain. I need to get a nice 8.8 that I can pretty up and then there’s all the rest of the odds and ends underneath the car.

The other winter project will be the sc seats. Hopefully I’ll get them this coming week and start the tear down of them.

Should be easy for you to find an 8.8 rear. I'm sure your JY connect has one laying around.

That's not my number....
That's the tech number to "Mike's better than new, while doing it on the cheap fabrications" Chassis components.

It'll only be a matter of time before Noobz makes me take it down.

I don’t mind fixing stuff on the car. I just think the Stifflers braces are pretty.

Life has been nightmarish lately, just non stop. So not much to tell about.

The dealership owner decided to stick with Sherwin Williams. A couple good things came out of it though.

First, two new paint guns for free! They would have cost me $1300.

Second, SW is going to buy me a bottle of Glenlivett 25 year old scotch! That’s a $375 bottle of scotch my friends! This way I don’t have to wait for that winning lottery ticket to get it.

Nothing wrong with it at all Craig. It’s better than PPG and DuPont products.

I’ve always liked Sikkens, it’s just been about twenty years since I’ve shot it in a production level.

With a direct comparison like we had with SW, it’s real clear (no pun) that Sikkens is a step above.

My car will be sprayed with SW still. I’m not in the least worried about durability or anything. It just takes more effort to get it to look like Sikkens.
