Trans mount was replaced Feb 2018 with the clutch, should be just fine.Is the trans mount good?
Based on a clock face is the movement a couple minutes or more?
On a clock face, starting at 12 the driveshaft would rotate to about 1
I vote for the 373 excuse but I feel that the ring and 'opinion' is not the problem, although I feel that is an acceptable amount of play it may be on the extreme end of acceptable.
Typo Fixed. I might be stingy on the amount of play, I went under the 94 coupe and there was no where near as much. I can avoid the knock noise by driving carefully but I wonder if it’s actually detrimental to the drive line.I vote for the 373 excuse but I feel that the ring and 'opinion' is not the problem, although I feel that is an acceptable amount of play it may be on the extreme end of acceptable.
Yeah it likely ain't do'n the ring and 'opinion' any good but it could last a long time if you are kind to it.Typo Fixed. I have a spare in the vert parts car and I believe it has the 3.25 gear in it. Oh, wait, never mind, wrong year.
Finally figured out my steering wheel slop. Inner tie rods were absolutely shot. Rack could use replacing as its leaky but fine for now. The tie rods were super loose and quite frankly dangerous. Replaced the inner and outer tie rods and got it aligned. The car drives like a proper sports car now. In addition I figured I would see if my distributor loosened up to bump the timing. Some Pb blaster and a chisel and hammer allowed me to forcefully move the dizzy and get 12 degrees in. My car was running about 4 previously. The car pulls much harder past 3k where it use to run out of breath. Between the power bump and the new tight steering, I enjoy driving it that much more.
And my new project for the summer before school is to start painting. We bought a c4 vette in ruby red metallic that needs some paint work on the bumpers. I also want to repair and paint my wing and front fender. Got the compressor and a hf purple gun and all the necessary supplies. Should be spraying next week. Conditions are less than ideal but I’m optimistic for results
Fuel door and wing primed. Going to fill little dimples with some spot putty and give it another two coats of primer. Base coat should be here next week. And for all the paint guys, will medium hardener be okay for Florida weather? They sent me medium instead of slow and they don’t do returns and I’m in almost $100 for my clear

Sigh. I was hoping it wouldn't come to that.Bubbles are in your filler or putty. You need to
Strip it all off and get down to metal or a good surface and start back. Then feather and reprime.
Anytime you have something bubbling, the only proper way to fix it is to strip the area and start fresh. Otherwise your going to end up wasting all the material and time you put on it after that.Sigh. I was hoping it wouldn't come to that.
I did my wet sanding just to see and they disappeared. My primer calls for 220-500. Should I still strip it and start over?Anytime you have something bubbling, the only proper way to fix it is to strip the area and start fresh. Yes. And sand primer with 220 if your going to reprime. Sand it with 400 then 600 wet before actual paintI did my wet sanding just to see and they disappeared. My primer calls for 220-500. Should I still strip it and start over?
Thank you! Just got the base coat in today and am hoping to have the spoiler done by Tuesday. Also, what’s the difference between wet and dry sanding? I’m assuming not as deep scratches?Yes. And sand primer with 220 if your going to reprime. Sand it with 400 then 600 wet before actual paint
Not a whole lot. You just make less dust and most 400/600 paper is made for wet which most paper below that is made for dry sanding. Less dust before paint always is better
